Sorry, I ment FANBOYS. Tis different.

And yes, I hate AvP-R. More then AvP. Its not just directed badly, it also ruins the Alien series. The Predator series...however, came out scott free! Yey! More fanboys should direct movies.

you just hate everything to do with AVP-R, its hard to take your opinion when your clearly hate everything about it and wont be told otherwise, its still YOUR opinion and thats cool, but other people have there own to

i dont disagree with the things you hate i just like to look at the good things about it and like the movie for that

i just find it funny how everytime ANYONE sez anything about AVP-R your there to tell them it sucked :lol and why :rotfl

Yeah. And I will...because its not the fact the movie sucks, its the fact it makes all the other movies suck too. Its not something I can filter out of my mind, it RUINS the Alien movies. Ripley's motive is useless, Aliens have been on earth, and it wasnt all that bad.

I've been reading a ton of people's thoughts on AvP-R, so I have bottled up opinions on the subject. Its one of the most intresting things to talk about....it tells me a lot about the current state of the fanbase, and where it stands.

I love discussing AvP-R.

but if you think about it, the goverment would cover up the Aliens being on earth, and they would have no idea about aliens a thousand years in the future from when the movies is set

and if the aliens didnt get A bombed it would have raped the word, they where there for like 5 hours and that town was FUBR

But...if you watched Alien, the Company had NO KNOWLAGE of the Aliens.

The whole reason they sent Ash, and the crew of the Nostromo was because of one thing, and one thing alone, the Space Jockey's distress becon. Thats the one and only reason. They knew something was there that wasnt human, and they wanted it.

They had no idea they would find the Alien.

.. hmmm i think i might watch it 2night, i havent seen it in the last 2 years

but still, they could have just been in the right place at the right time??
did they radio into the corporation? or did they just respond? cause thats what i thought,

AND they could always say in the NEXT alien/AVP movie that the company gos looking for the aliens and then they all die or some crap, theres ways around it and im sure it was the Nostromo crew that chose to go down there not ordered but headquarters.. which COULD have known about aliens? and then not told them in Aliens that they already knew

Actually that's not really a fair fact.

The alien in alien and the aliens in avp-r are a different cattle of fish. The alien in alien came from an egg. The aliens in avp-r did not. Plus, except for the father and son, no other civilian had seen a facehugger. Plus the reproduction method was via the predalien so that makes things even more different.

So if you think about it, its plausible that they might not put 2 and 2 together.

The only thing that seems somewhat zonked is time from facehugged to chestburster. But again some have tried to explain that the facehuggers carried for seeding are enhanced to make the reproduction cycle shorter.

If they were bio-weapons of a sort, that would be conceivable. A lot of people take issue with the fact that the aliens seems quite weak in avp-r (relative to avp).

However when you consider that vasquesz put a boot to an alien head and shot hit to death with a handgun, it doesn't seem so out of place.

For me it was AVP that ruined the series. The aliens behaviour did not tally with those on alien or aliens.

my 2 cents.

Well, the thing with the boot is different.

Vasquez was in a very tight space, and it was only for a second. Wolf was in an open space, and it lasted for 15 seconds. The Aliens didnt do anything.

Its kinda a fact....mainly because up until AvP, thats the story. But who knows. The directors screwed up. They are ALIENS fans, but they're not ALIEN(the creature) fans. They're predator fans through and through. Which killed the movie compleatly.

My idea for Alien 5....use the Queen floating in outer space. Since its the last of its kind, and without the use of Predators, it makes sense. Bring back the Queen!

yeah thats right, and the aliens did seem TO strong in AVP, there are so many things that could change the story again to fit onto Alien

Plus th corporation didnt see any Aliens Or predators only the Plasma Cannon, the military dude seen the alien

Just because they CAN add a back story for Alien...doesnt mean they SHOULD...;)

And the Aliens werent too strong, its just the Predators were killed too quickly. Had their deaths been spaned out a bit more, it would've been a problem.

i totaly agree with that, i loved the Celtic vs Grid fight i just thought the alien was to strong, humans a few times have pushed aliens away like Vasquez and im sure there was another,

As far as i can tell no alien before avp could bust through 4 concrete pillars and still keep his head.

Also no alien drone in any alien movie up till AVP actually used their tails to spear anyone (queen excluded).

Also i think Wolf wasn't overcomplacent when he threw down his mask and gear. I believe he knew the predalien would keep its distance so long as wolf had the tech edge. I think he threw down his gear to sucker the predalien into a close quarter slug out which he knew from experience he could end in a stalemate. :naughty

Aaaaand Predator 2, remember when he SLOWLY walked up to Glover, cracking his knuckles....

The Wolf for taking off his mask, and Weapons when facing the Predalien...

They're ALL cocky.

I was referring to the 'kill themselves' part

My guess is Wolf. Predator 2 was still a youngster out to prove himself, P1 was a very skilled hunter and warrior, but Wolf was appearantly especially assigned to exterminate aliens and clean up bad situations, and if you go with what the comics/books said, then he's even one of the Preds that got tired of hunting and now act as law enforcement. And he wasn't even 'grey haired' yet!

on the dvd wolf didn't even know about the aliens until he got to earth, he was an elite pred but just a cleaner, not an alien specific role.

he still knew straight away what to do and not surprised at all when he found out the aliens got loose, plus he would have assumed the worst due to the knowledge of the ship was transporting alien facehuggers

The Unrated cut makes a lot more sense. He had NO idea about the Predalien, only the other aliens.

I had friends staying here last week that had only seen the theatrical cut, and everyone one of them who saw the Unrated version thought it made MUCH more sense.

...still love the part right before Wolf switches bios with the dead predator, and places his hand on his helmet and lets out a sigh of compassion, like he might have known him.
