Yeah, that was pretty cool. I did dig the Wolf....but he was kinda a ******* at times.

Why are more people voting for P1 predator than P2? The P1 predator was essentially a sniper, he assassinated from afar while cloaked. He killed Blain and Mac outright with his shoulder cannon, apart from Arnie these were the 2 biggest guys - he rendered Dillon and poncho hopeless combatants using the shoulder cannon before ultimately finishing poncho - again with the shoulder cannon. He even shot his primary prey, Dutch, with the shoulder cannon. As far as the predator knew that could have killed him outright or at least wounded him so much that he couldn't put up any more fight. The only guys he killed hand to hand, and yet while cloaked, was Hawkins (relatively the wimpiest of the bunch) and possibly Billy in an offscreen encounter. During the final battle the primary weapon he uses is, guess what - the shoulder cannon - he just happens to miss. And then when he gets beaten in the end he laughs in dutches face and sets off a nuke! Sore f-ing loser or what!! The P1 predator, though cool by sheer virtue of his being the original, was a chickens**t!
The P2 Predator used quite a bit more hand-to-hand, using his spear and wristblades i grant you but still...
I'd have voted P2 only Wolf tackles Aliens rather than just humans.

He most definitely wasn't a chicken ^^^^.
He simply used his environment to his advantage. This is how predators should be. The foes predator 2 fought were also no were near as tough as the first predators prey. He had an old cop , a few high gangsters and hudson in a suit .
The way the predator hides and uses camouflage also makes a much tenser movie. It could be anywhere. The predator was essentially playing with his prey and got too big for his boots.
He only displayed hi self to Dutch because he felt he was worthy whilst the others weren't worth the hastle.

basically 'Predator' was originally called 'Hunter' for a reason!!

I agrees with you.. Predator 2 was more skilled in the movie and not forgetting he got up from about 10 shotgun shots and an amputated arm.. predator 2 also make uses of many other cool weapons he had to kill his prey including that king willie and put up a good fight till the very end.

P1 predator never sustained that kind of damage because he was a chickens**t, he stayed in the trees, cloaked, blowing peoples heads off from above - in some cases when they didn't know he was there at all let alone have time enough to spot him. He exploited every advantage he had - true that probably makes him smarter and less a candidate for the Darwin award. And if he used that strategy against his Predator rivals he might well win. Hand to hand though, perhaps using just blades and/or spears? P2 would surely win as it was his preferred method, we have less evidence to examine regarding P1's hand-to-hand so I feel P2 must win by default. And remember it was Kevin peter hall in both films!!

Nevertheless it seems plausible to suggest from this that P2 predator is more skilled in hand-to-hand situations

Maybe its not predator 1 whos the chicken ^^^^ but predator 2 who is too big for his boots.
Hell , who in the right mind would go running into leathal marines who would kill you without even blinking , with the intentions of killing them.
If predator 2 wants to run in not camouflaged as an easy target thats his decision.

How are people saying P1 was a 'chicken^^^^' for sniping people? I mean, I know he did that, and I even agreed with saying that was kinda crappy, BUT...
P2 ran from Glover.

Well, Glover busted in on him ripping out Lambert's spine, in the meat plant, and then he cut off his ^^^^ing arm! HIS ARM! Glover then chased him back to his ship where he got lucky with the disc.
P2 was good, but ran.
Wolf, now that was the MAN! Sure, he might have fumbled a few times, and was in a pretty bad (to other people's standards) movie, but he went balls to walls against a horde of Aliens, and a Predalien. He fought tooth and nail.
Scar, Chopper, and Celtic get honorable mentions... but uhhh... yeah. The got ^^^^ed up by some ******* humans takin their guns.

You tackle Big Game when you hunt A-dev?
Oh yeah. You should see the beasts we have here in Ireland. We're a hotbed of genetically tampered GIANT game and I take them on hand-to-hand - no cloaking, no guns, I just rush right in there - hence my admiration for the P2 pred. And I only run away when I need to carry out DIY surgery on myself in a tree.
