Who would you like as the next maquette

im currently discussing such a project with my private sculptor hes willing to do trolls fellbeast and he currently doing me a rohan foot soldier maybe this is the way to go as sideshow arnt listening to the fans and just doing what there want not what we want

What on earth are you talking about?

A]. This line is less than one year old and we've all known for over a year now that the 1st six characters would be good guys.

B]. SS has clearly stated this line will be EXPANSIVE and will cover both heroes and villians.

C]. A Sauron maquette is already in prod. A Mouth of Sauron maquette has been designed and SS has already said we will eventually see a Balrog, Cave Troll, Morgul Lord, Saruman, and Twilight WK....just to name a few.

Remind me again how SS isn't listening to LOTR fans/collectors.

I'd take that. The first balrog was and always will be one of the top 5-10 pieces I've ever owned and him either at the bridge scene flexed out or holding the sword would go great with the old SSW piece. God, I want a Balrog.

Why'd you sell the SSW one then!! If i had one i'd never let it go, major finacial trouble aside of course.

Do we know anything about whether SS can do steed maquettes? If Eomer is being done, he has to be on horseback, ditto Mouth of Sauron!

Also, i must have completely missed when SS said they'd do a cave troll, witch king etc. All i remember is them saying Eomer, Faramir and the MoS were being designed... ?

I would imagine they can do steed maquettes but I don't recall reading anything about it one way or the other. Both those pieces in that form are items I've been waiting years for.

Yeah, it was in a Q&A that they have plans to do bigger creatures and characters something like that.

They've talked about doing bigger pieces with the PF but have said similar stuff about stuff like a Balrog for the maquette line.

Yes we do! I asked that very question of SS last summer and they were good enough to respond. As for some of the other baddies such as the Balrog, CT, Twilight WK, etc...SS has mentioned these characters in various Q&A's.

Question : Does your new LOTR maquette/statue license allow for 1/6th riders and steeds?

Answer : 1/6 scale statues, yes.

As someone else mentioned, most of the year's releases are planned out. Next year's releases may be mostly worked out as well.

I think they need a monster. Something larger in size that expands the line beyond just another 12" or so sculpt. The line needs range to extends it's longevity and keeps people interested.

Balrog would make a "wow" piece if shown at SDCC. So would a cave troll or something large and detailed sculpted along those lines.

Gonna be all kinds of epic win on that Sauron piece. The SSW one is amazing but since I don't have it anymore I gotta get this.

Wow I had no idea so many pieces were already in the planning stages, I don't follow this stuff too closely I suppose. The SSW piece is really hard to top, they must know this, and therefore must have something really wicked planned.

I'd hate to be holding old grail product with so much new material coming out.

I believe it was then explained that, with Sauron, they would have to do something a bit different than the standard PF. I figured that they were looking at doing a PF that was closer to 1/5 scale.

Has that all been changed now? Personally, I was looking forward to having a statue of Sauron with his robes (especially after the bang-up job done on the ML).

How about sauron with real metal armor, $799. I assumed we were talking maquette not PF, or did I miss something. I can't see SS replicating ALL of these pieces in both lines.

They can keep the real armor and do polytstone thats just fine. Oh they will end up doing many of them in both lines because not everyone collects both and you gotta hit both markets.
