I've seen those but i have NO idea how to drill a hole in the head to get it on the body.

If you have access to a rotary tool, just put on a small bit and drill away. Seems like you could wreck it but resin is quite solid and resistible.

He is known for very, very poor quality casts. I've only bought from him once, before I knew he was a recaster, and my head turned out okay, a few spots, but workable.

A Jeff Bridges as Obadiah Stane would be a really fun piece to do... I was just thinking of different people ;)

Because variety is the spice of life… I guess. :lol

I’ll tell you why I’ve done a few that have already been done…It’s because I want the figure myself and would probably not buy from another sculptor. 90% of the heads I do are for me and if I can pull off the sculpt then I feel more of a sense of accomplishment, and if I can offer it to whomever wants one and at least make my mold material cost back then I’m happy.

Sculptors: They don’t usually communicate what heads they are working on, so many of them I think are done around the same time, so it’s just a matter of coincidence. (Joker, Bale, etc…)

Quality, or a head that’s just played out: I know many sculptors are tired of seeing that same old head passed around recast and passed some more and think it’s time for new blood. Nothing wrong with that.

Commissions: I’ve been commissioned to sculpt heads that were just released by other sculptors, 99% of the time the reason is the commissioning customer wasn’t happy with the way the other one turned out.

Specifically: Some heads mentioned in this tread I personally have already done and haven’t shown yet like Pris. I’ve been commissioned to do the main characters from Blade Runner so they’ll show up eventually.

The Kirk I did started as an Older Shatner , but after blocking in the likeness It looked pretty good so I finished it off as a younger Kirk Shatner… So that was kind of and accident.

Others like Marion or Salla…I started a Marion then heard the rumors that SS is most likely going to do one, So she’s on hold for the moment. This may happen down the road when we see what SS is going to do.

Also: I think there are some of you guys that get frustrated by the lack of interest in a particular area like 70’s/80’s TV, I myself love Starsky & Hutch as a kid in the 70’s and loved watching the DVDs, I even got my wife into it even though she fought me for awhile she came around and is now a fan. But I don’t think I would care to have figures of them.

I will say this…I think we need to be patient, some of these head sculpts will come along…

PS: Nothing I’ve said here is a direct response to Ironman1188 anyone else, just my thoughts on the subject, and I haven’t taken offence to anything said. I Just wanted to throw that out there so there are no misunderstandings.

Spenser, No offense was intended by me to anyone. I understand your viewpoint and if I had your talent I'd probably do the same. Though I would have Starsky & Hutch in there!! I just got Starsky's sneakers in 1:6 a few weeks ago so now I need his head more than ever!! :lol
And I do understand why a sculptor would sculpt a head thats already there, especially if commissioned to do so. Personally, I'd like to see all the heads that sculptors have done. I never understood the other side of the coin either, where someone will spend hundreds of dollars on a sculpt just to have it but not allow photos of it or allow it for sale. Hell, if I could sculpt like you guys, there would be no lacking for heads from any era or any genre.
I thank the stars that we have sculptors like you and some of the others around here to fill in someof the void.

That is good news!

HEY!! Whatta ya mean most? :lol

:lol

There's a few I'm not familiar with, but I'm totally on board with you on Remo Williams & Buckaroo Banzai if that helps!

I'd love a good Andre the Giant sculpt to use as Fez from Princess Bride and an altered version for Bionic Bigfoot.

Just curious - who's the unfamiliar ones?

And a Ted Cassidy for a Bigfoot and to use from Roddenberry's Planet Earth which would also use the much needed John Saxon!!

Not very familiar with these:

- Space Academy
- Jason of Star Command
- 240 Robert
- Torchwood
- S.W.A.T. (tv series)
- Starcrash: the Adventures of Stella Star
- the Rookies (tv series)

but I'd go for these:

- Simon & Simon
- Magnum PI
- Sledgehammer
- The Fall Guy
- Tron
- The Goonies
- Big Trouble in Little China
- Bionic Woman

..I nearly went with Ada to make Carradine (bald sculpt, with a hair piece accessory), when she first started out on ebay. Though I let slide as communication wasnt too good, and she was increasing her commission fee at the time.

Tron would be cool. A 1/6 light cycle to go with that would be AWESOME

You know I've been trying to work out a Tron figure for awhile and I came up with an Idea…If the outfit was done correctly and the face painted with florescent paints you could display the figure with a black light and it would appear to glow like the movie.
