Why have all the PFs depreciated so significantly?

But there hasnt ever been an inclusive for a premium format though.

I am not so sure about the inclusive edition. why the ES of maul still not set or announced?

as Solidlf stated, ES shall not exceed 1000-1250 for exclusive and for regular it should be around 2000 if SS wants to keep its popularity

Now some have speculated that the audience will grow and the prices will eventually skyrocket, but the Star Wars collectible market is extremely large and these older products have to compete with everything else that comes out. Will people decide to get into the 1/4 line or will they instead throw their money towards So and So's Star Wars VS. Dioramas, Marvel Vs., etc.? We sometimes lose sight these these are THREE HUNDRED DOLLAR PRODUCTS.

That's it right there. There is no shortage of stuff to buy from different companies. There is no chance to get caught up or things slowing down a bit in the near future. There is always something cooler coming out later down the road. Hence you have to make sure, as a company, that you don't overproduce thinking that demand will catch up to the supply at some point. We live in the world of ebay. People that buy things do not necessarily keep them so there will always be a PF exclusive out there for somebody to order.

I agree we lose sight that these are expensive items. I know is very deceiving by reading message boards as it seems that everyone has unlimited income for these pieces. At some point, we all have to pick and choose what we are going to collect. Be it because of money or space.

On the issue of rounding up...if it were up to me I would just tag the ES at whatever orders come in and throttle down if people cancel. It doesn't take much of an undersupply to start bidding wars on ebay, which would prevent the secondary values from tanking like they are now.

Course, I'm not privy to the licensing agreements, costs, etc., so take my statements with a grain of salt.

I would be content with them just not overproducing. Especially on the exclusives. I think that's where the true problem lies. How many days was the Boba Fett Ex preorder open for? 2 weeks? more? You have to cap it at some point.
