Why I choose SS Predator Maquette Ex. over the Cinemaquette

You can't really compare them detail wise as one is almost 10" taller than the other. I do much prefer the cinemaquette pose though. I very often find SSC's poses to be awkward and off balance. The SSC Pred looks like it's about to fall over. They seem to almost always have visual center of balance issues. The SSC Pred though seems to have a much more accurate face and I also must say I'm a fan of the helmet and if I had such a piece I'd want to display it with the helmet.

The cinemaquette also costs twice as much.

Cinemaquette is more impressive.

well that's completely subjective. personally, i'm gonna track down one of the cinemaquettes sometime the first of the year, but i also plan on getting the sideshow exclusive maquette down the road. congrats on your purchase!!! and remember, you're the person who pays for it, collects it, and keeps perfect care of it (hopefully) so you don't ever have to provide reasons for picking one over the other as long as you're happy with it!!

If money is no object I would defnitely say CM.

Thats an interesting pic. To a movie buff who can tell you every actor who played a predator ever and their height and weight in costume, the CM's would look more in scale with each other.

But to the average person checking out your display, the SS Pred would look more in scale with the CM T-800 and T-X I think.

The opening intro was made in Adobe After Effects CS3, took about 20 hours total work to put it together the way I liked it Thank you, glad you liked it!

Great review Faken! I will check out the video review later. I have been trying to acquire an SSEX, but havent had much luck. Perhaps I should bite the bullet and look into the Cinemaquette.

To me there is nothing better than Cinemaquette whether its PREDATOR , TERMINATOR or whatever they put out it's just head and shoulders above the competition. If I were to purchase a PREDATOR it would be the Cinemaquette. It's all personal preference. Buy what appeals to you.

The lack of a helmeted head is the only thing thats stopping me from getting the CM. And I'm not too keen on hacking up a $2000 item .

As for the SS one, I have NEVER seen one up (on this board, statueforums, or ebay) in recent memory...

I always thought I would prefer the Sideshow Exclusive piece. The mask looks great and the CM's head (crown area) was not accurate.

I thought it would really bug me but then I got a chance to get the CM at a good price so I bought it.

The minute I opened it up, I was BLOWN AWAY with it. Accurate or not, the details and size of the thing were incredible.

You cannot go wrong with either piece but the CM Pred is very impressive.
