I mean really, why???

You'd have thought at 1/4 scale things might be a little easier... but oh no!

It's Meatloaf's bastard son!

The Jedi Luke by SSC is the only good likeness ever - Hasbro's never managed it in any scale, nor has any other company. My last hope now is Medicom (and it hurt to write that) for a decent farmboy Luke.

He's got very bland features, both before and after his car crash, but you'd think someone would have managed it by now.

Anyone who thinks SS farmboy Luke isn't the best likeness of Mark Hamil every created doesn't understand the relationship between a sculpt and paint apps. Get that piece painted by a good painter instead of a mass production factory and that IS Mark Hamill.

Yeah, I'll give you Jedi Luke, it was so good I even bought it, but its good, I might even say very good, but NO ONE has done an exceptional Mark Hamill yet... come on!
I like the farmboy and with a repaint it's much, much better, but it still doesn't convince me. I've looked and looked at it and I still find myself 'searching' for the likeness rather than it just staring back at me.

Exactly, both Jedi Luke and farm Boy Luke are great Mark Hamill likenesses. Check out the unpainted farm Boy sculpt.

All of these UQS look awful. They look like they put 1/6 scale heads on 1/4 scale bodies.

Really? Mark Hamill isn't staring at your in Trev's sculpt (and it is Trev, not Mat).

I have a hard time understanding that. :duh

Trevor nailed his Farmboy sculpt. I didn't buy it myself, but only because of the dastardly paint job. :( Too bad.

Sideshow as a company is outstanding. But their inexplicable loyalty to this factory in China that continuously pumps out lesser versions of quality prototypes has become baffling to me. Look at the paint apps on pieces by Weta, for instance. Perfect in every way!

Someday I hope that Sideshow looks into this. While it might be expensive to initiate a new factory, it will help them in the long run.

Sorry Pix, I'm always willing to concede when I'm wrong, and things are seen through different eyes, perhaps I am wrong, plenty of people love that sculpt.
I'd definetly say it has something of Hamill, but like all the other sad cases here I've watched A New Hope more times than is sensible, and I'm just not getting it!
Thebottom middle one of thepics posted does have something of the binary sunset about it, but I still see more Hamill in the Jedi Luke version... horses for courses!

If Sideshow's ANH Luke had a decent paint job, it would look like Hamill. I had mine customized and its amazing what a good paint job will do...dude, why the factory went with squinty eyes is beyond me.

Really!

Yeah it's always the paint that wrecks it

Medicom's Solo likeness is pretty spot on in that pic. I still hate how the head connects to the neck though.
