I've no particular attachment to the series but Ciri looked very cool in the trailer. Baffled by the online discourse saying she has DEI chin or whatever. People will find any reason to be angry or offended these days.

They’ve never actually seen or interacted with a real woman before.

The response to Naughty Dog's Intergalactic was even worse. I guess they're wanting waifus to be in every game.

I've never played the Witcher games before, but I always meant to give Witcher 3 a go.

Indeed. I’m not a fan of the character design in that game, it’s a bit lacking, but the actress they have is really good.

That trailer was terrible though, did nothing for me and nobody else seemed to care either during it until Naughty Dog popped up - from the streams I watched anyway.

I love the look of it. The 80s vibe. Her design is ripped straight from Akira. The product placement was ridiculous though! It definitely peaked my interest.

I got Alien vibes from that ND game but it seems interesting. Its ND end of the day, made some of the best game franchises of all time. I hope they can deliver , nobody wants a bad game. Long ways away to improve it before we get it in hand.

I love the look of it. The 80s vibe. Her design is ripped straight from Akira. The product placement was ridiculous though! It definitely peaked my interest.

I can’t wait for the game to be delisted 5 years after launch because the Porsche and Adidas partnerships expired.

You have the "chuds" on one side that scream bloody murder, and the other side sticking their head in the sand and pretending nothing is wrong. Reality, as always, is far more complicated and nuanced and the internet is the last place I'd expect people to have any kind of in-depth, bona fide discussion.

This is the one place I hope not to hear about this crap.

What is wrong with the trailer though? I get the concerns regarding Ciri seemingly losing her powers and getting the mutations and all that but a lot of the discourse surrounding this trailer is just: "They replaced Geralt with a woman!" "Ciri looks like a man!" "Of course the white men are the real monsters!" "They will kill Geralt like Naughty Dog killed Joel!" "The trailer reeks of woke!" and so on...

The people saying those things clearly don't care about the franchise or these characters, and likely never even finished a single Witcher game. Most are just grifters thriving off the culture war nonsense and it's just tiring at this point. They bring nothing of value or nuance to the discussion, so obviously the people that do care about the franchise, including those with legitimate concerns regarding lore changes and so on, are going to react negatively when these frauds infiltrate discussions about the trailer with their blind vitriol, parroting the opinions of their favorite grifter.

Everyone saying she lost her elder blood powers, while she controls water and attacks monster with electrified water in the trailer lol Witchers don't have that kind of power. Watch she'll be more powerful than Geralt. She was trained by Yen in magic. She just didn't use teleport in the teaser, I'm sure everything will be explained in the game and I'm just happy we got Ciri instead of some brand new character. This means we gonna see all the beloved characters in the game. Also as I saw this is beginning of the new trilogy.
We are getting Witcher 1 remake with Geralt and it probably gonna have same kind of gameplay and graphics as Witcher 4. I'm sure they'll remake Witcher 2 as well. So White Wolf lives!

Bring on figures dammit!

P.S. As CDPR said Geralt is in Witcher 4 but they are keeping his role as a surprise, if it was just a cinematic cameo they would just say that. I think he'll be a playable character, like Ciri is in Witcher 3. I'm very optimistic and hopeful.

I think the issue is how the games and film now are leaning towards that woke bs, and so anything that has a female character regardless if it makes sense or is good will get dragged through the mud. Witcher 4 although announced years ago is being shown at the point when "strong female characters" are no longer appieling to people. I feel those who complain and see it that way are ruining it for themselves because this is hopefully not one of those cases. Ciri isn't a random strong female character she's been there from the start we've seen her grow and struggle, It's just the story is now her POV. I feel this game is getting the same traction as the Furiosa movie did. It was a good movie but people assumed it was another girl boss movie and woke when it actually wasn't though I understand in that situation people just wanted Mad Max and didn't care for her character as much. This though makes sense as it's a character we know well and have played as before. Hopefully gameplay and story stay good and people chill out once it's done.

I honestly don't get what people are crying about. I didn't look at her as ugly or Hot more so felt like Geralt seeing your baby girl all grown up. She's older and that made me feel proud because she's come into her own and is experienced now.
