I used to buy toyfare every month for years but withn the internet and i found this forum it is kinda obsolete. it was a fun read but didnt really cover much of the high end stuff ( AT LEAST NOT WHEN I WAS GETTING IT)

I was actually unaware they still printed Wizard. I found some old copies in my garage the other day. IMHO, ToyFare was hanging on (I loved their ToyFare Theatre even though I didn't buy it) but Wizard stopped being relevant about five years ago. I'd say these horses were both overdo for a shot in the head.

I'm slightly ashamed to say that I spent a lot of time there. It was on the way to the bus stop when I was in Junior High :lol

I spent my fair share of time and money there too....
Suffice it to say that big goof made a couple bucks off of me.... It makes me cringe to think about all the comics I bought multiple copies of for "investment purposes".... :lol

I do still have a copy of Ironman #1 that I got through a trade with him. :yess:

Sad indeed. I haven't bought/read a Wizard magazine in 15+ years. Sucks that printed magazines are starting to fade away now that the internet has taken over.

Kinda sad, sign of the times, but I stopped buying Toyfare years ago, around the time I found this place.

Its great getting up to the second news here, but nothing will be ever beat that moment of buying the new Toyfare and ripping through it for new toy news, and then that sad feeling of having to wait another month for the next one.

I would agree. I read the Comics and Toyfare from the start but stopped around 2001, no need too continue with info on the internet instantly.

I still have several mid 90's issues of Lees Action Figure and Toy Review scalper rags too.

Yeah, the Inter-web is great and all...

but I still buy Toyfare (while I can) and the Ring Magazine.

I like something tangible in my hands...tactile...the smell of printed material... it smells like... victory... over the plant life.

other than my other past-time with my hands...:lol

Tomarts had the better pics.
Lee had the best Figure Guides.
But Toyfare had the funniest articles and editorials.

But The days of the Magazine is dead in 2011.

ToyFare really was the "fun friend" of toy mags... not the best/most useful content. But pretty damn funny :lol

Although now I get a lot of those needs met though Robot Chicken... so life goes on.

Twisted Toyfare Theater got REALLY unfunny a few years ago, pretty much when hey strayed away from actually using Mego figures.

I never needed the price guide, I just read it because as a whole (despite TTT's slide), it was one of the funniest and most entertaining mags out there.
