The guy I bought this from said he never displayed it. All I did was lift them up and the straps can't even support the weight of the things on it. I bought my own leather straps from a art store and fishing line to tie both together for the huge weapon/ rope thing around his waist. Lol

That is probably why they dried out.

People who have displayed it also have complained about the leather on the wolf falling apart before too :<

CBG, please post pictures of them in your final display. I'm curious to see how far off the ground you need to keep them in order to avoid a jumping, flying, spitting dog.

Thank you for your time.

One of the straps came off on mine. I used Gorilla Glue just a dab. But so true the straps were a very thin, they should have been thick leather bound. Nope Sideshow cut corners with them. I personally hate the mask sculpt it's too simple. The silver is so so lol...The spear is so long I simply cant display it with it. I really love the spear. Other than that they nailed the base and the scared head sculpt. Still my best statue personally and it's bloody heavy

Well said same points here! It blows away everything I own. The base, pose and open mouth makes this the predator to beat. One more issue I had is I can't get the weapon spear thing which is suppose to attach to his backpack to go into place because his hair is blocking it. Can you fit the part on his backpack and have the head on at the same time? I tried a few times and gave up.
Has anyone repainted the silver helmet head before? Maybe add some patina metal paint? The p2 masked head was great looking with the paint. It looked like rusted a bit metal.

I have heard others have problems with that part. I have had zero issues with it. There is a guy on this forum that has done a repaint of the mask which looks miles better but can't remember his name!

I may repaint the mask! The silver paint is just not working. Lol this is still the best statue but can still be even more awesome!

I preferred masked head/ whip/ left-cannon only display for more "accurate" look. It's the rooftop scene where the wolf was about to headstomp that one dismembered Xeno BTW.

In that respect yes very true. But that whole movie was way to dark. They really should do a movie on the Wolf as a backstory, could be done

Please repaint it. I'd love to see your skills :monkey1

I used patina paint before isn't it paint from a art store for like 3.00? Brush it on and the metal effects pop up. I never painted before so will hope not to mess up on a 3500.00 statue. Better watch some YouTube videos first. Lol one things for sure the masked head paint is really cheap and bad looking kids paint silver.

I'm not sure how seriously you're considering diving in on this. But just trust me here... Practice! Youtube video are fine, but buy a few cheap kits, or even just sheets of plastic even and practice before you ruin your expensive Wolf bio. Also, for metallics, consider rattle cans, they will give you a much better finish over a brush, apply a gloss black first and then apply the metallic paint on top of that in 3-5 very thin coats. It's easy enough once you know how, detailing & weathering it is more difficult to do right. But best of luck, I agree the mask is one of the few weak areas of this statue.

OMG! CBG have you ever painted before????

I pretty much did what Python said and practiced and practiced. I'm still far from a professional, but after practice and practice I've managed to paint at a level I'm happy with.
Here's the P1 Diorama I've recently done to show what I've been doing...

I repainted the mask entirely and added movie accurate damage, added real metal lenses, repainted the whole gauntlet and added the fine detail of electronics and added a glowing affect to the plasma cannon to show the after heat of firing a plasma cannon. I also updated the left hand glove to have the silver armour as in the sideshow original paint the glove was totally black.

Some photos...

Nice work mate - BRILLIANT! :clap

I especially like the glowing plasma canon - wasn't expecting that but it REALLY works.
