I can only shake my head in disappointment when some figure collector starts bashing statues.
At the end of the day HT figures are just glorified toys. The only thing they have over statues is poseability, which then presents the problem of exposed joints. Why would you want a small, plastic figure with eye-sore joints when you could have a large, full, aesthetically-pleasing sculpture? Because the man-children that bash statues need something they can constantly touch and pose (play with). They consider statues boring because they don't have a flashy gimmick that mostly appeals to children.
I've got no problem with people who only collect figures, and I have owned several HT's in my time - my disliking is only for those that insult statues/statue collectors and act all high-and-mighty with their glorified toys.
