Great job Andy. You shouldn't really be having to do that on a 2K statue but at least your got the talent to put it right :)

It's looking good very similar to the proto now :)

Looks way more natural now. Really great job! :clap

Hey, its the UK gang! :rotfl Cheers guys, really appreciate the positive feedback.

@ Ant - Yep, was always going to work with that proto picture as that is how i feel it should have looked like in the first place. Should have known that what you see on the Sideshow Website Order Page isnt always what your gonna recieve :exactly:

@ Jay - Thanks Jay, replied on my thread also mate :hi5:

@ Stevo - Thanks RB, your so true. 2k and i'm still having to change things cos they are not like the pictures on the order page. I mean, do you think that SSC would have replaced the shoulder guards cos i wasnt happy with the paint app? No way! They'll say that its the same for everyone...this is where SSC let themselves down imo. :(

I'm really striking out with these Legendary Scale Figures. I received my Wolverine yesterday and his right arm has a small chip on it. Wasn't really a big deal, called SS, asked for a replacement arm and that was that. However, last night the head fell out of the statue, lands on the hardwood floor and the chin shatters into a million pieces. Scared the crap out of me since it happened out of nowhere. Turns out the magnet inside the upper body came unglued causing the head to come falling out. The magnet holding the head in place is a very slim piece and it's still attached to the bottom of the broken head. All 3 of my LSF's have had problems now and I really can't believe the quality control on these. It's absolutely ridiculous. I'm really getting sick of the hassle that comes with returning this stuff. Mainly because it takes a month or more just to get the ball rolling with SS returns these days, and receive an unbroken statue. Even more frustrating is the fact that I shouldn't have to go through this process since I paid $2,000 for this and shouldn't have to worry about quality control issues.

Man! :horror Sorry to hear this Emperor!! This is the 4th case i've heard of damaged Wolverines! 3 broken claws and your problem. It doesnt bode very well. I'm a bit peeved as i've had to repaint the shoulder guards cos they were painted differently to what we had seen from the order pictures on the website and the actual prototype shown at the conventions. We shouldnt have to put up with this BS when paying $2K! Its just not on! What would be the point of me moaning about the shoulder guards :dunno SSC would say that they have all been painted this way and at best i'd probably get a $25 refund. :slap

Jeez! I hope all my magnets stay intact! Youve made me worry now :(

very sorry to hear.

there have been significant qc issues with $5000 SS statues, so I am not surprised at all.

Man, i'd be so peeved at QC issues on a $5k piece...well more peeved than i would be on a $2k piece.

I really hope these QC issues are kept to a minimum...after hearing Emperors story i'm scared of the head falling off! :panic: Good job he's going back in the box after Saturday! :thud:

I have to agree with you here..

Few more pics of my repainted shoulder guards...can't help but wonder how the head could just fall off like that...mine feels solid!!

Imagine if you opened this after the 30 days and the head fell and cracked. Then it would really be a nightmare. Sorry to hear about the QC on such a high price item.

I have to say the shoulders do look a lot better
Can't wait to see the redone base :)

Thanks Ant, thought you'd like 'em :yess: think i'll get them both finished this evening. As for the base, just subtle changes again on the foliage and then possibly adding a puddle, definately adding laquer to create a wet look

Im sorry to hear this, I will go check my head magnet and report back. So far I have had zero issues. Magnet issues always scare me, since they may never come up till some time later
Hope SS takes care of you soon

Okay, here are some more updates regarding my customising of the shoulder guards. So the only downside I could see with this epic statue was the paint application on the shoulder guard, notably the battle damage application around the edging...

So I'm abt 80% complete but already you can see the difference and is starting to look much more realistic rather than just painting a pattern around the edge! WTF!!!

The top half shows the poor SSC paint app and the bottom is my custom repaint..

Still beyond me why SSC didn't stick to the proto paint app? Below is another split comparison with the proto on top and my custom repaint on the bottom. This is how it should have looked like from the beginning!

Let me know what you think guys...

Yes I can see what you did! Good job! I may do the same with mine this summer. Although I will have painters do it, you are very brave ;)
As you know I will touch up the veins too, I think it will look a bit more realistic looking
