you're comparing apples to t2.

corman's ff movie was not only low budget, but unfinished and never intended to be released as it was. it exists only as a bootleg.
t2 would be garbage without the fancy big budget fx.
and yet, corman's dr doom was still cooler than the 2005 version. go figure.
I just want to see a man with fangs and a long coat run on all 4's.....that's got to count for something...no?
Win Win if you ask me
I didn't actually think it was as bad as a lot of you guys did but for some reason I could not get over, IMO, one of the lamest plot devices to grace comic book movies yet -
amnesia by bullets!
Really?! That's the best they could come up with?!
I may be advertising my ignorance if that's how it happened in the comic but even so - wow! That is LAZY writing.
Just the adamantium bonding process itself could have been the explanation as to why he had no memories. Something so traumatic and painful can actually do that to a person.

That's actually what I always assumed caused the amnesia - in the X films the flashbacks seem to imply that he came out of the tank like a wild animal...kind of a rebirth.
I wouldn't even mind if the gunshots caused the amnesia as a side effect but the idea of intentionally shooting him in the head because "the memories won't grow back" is over my personal line of Suspension of Disbelief, comic book movie or not.
Ummm...
I would 100% guarantee you that whomever is shot in the head like they did in that movie which was at point blank range, heck...at any range, that they'll be losing MUCH MORE than just their memory...
So if a comic book movie wants me to believe that a gun shot caused amnesia, I'm ready and willing to buy that....
Or are you saying that the Suspension of Disbelief which you're having a hard time buying was the fact that he even survived the multiple gunshots to his head at point blank range one after another?

No, I'm saying I would buy that the gunshot wound would cause amnesia. I'm not buying the idea that someone basically says "I know these bullets won't kill him but they will cause him to lose his memories." And I know I'm nitpicking a very silly movie. I'm just saying some bits are a little too silly even on those terms.
I don't want to keep picking it apart. It was a good time killer and I look forward to seeing if they made any improvements in the meantime. I expected a disaster from the word of mouth and I was pleasantly surprised.
I'm having a hard time believing that anyone really likes this movie.

I still can't believe they made it like they did.....
I cant believe you believe you can fly.
i can't believe that i didn't like this movie!.... I can't believe they ruined Deadpool even with the Ryan Reynolds aka the Van Wilder.
I can't believe with that kind of budget that DP's costume ended up being a cheapo red t-shirt from Walmart! Pfft....
he wasn't deadpool just yet.... his costume is actually some cheap sharpie lines and a pair of red pants.
