Im getting the feeling they axed this line altogether. A lot of signals point to this - for instance Sue was previewed almost a year ago. Cyclops was previewed 3 months later. Anyone else surprised by the abrupt delivery?

Also the Beast Comiquette has been pushed up from August 2011, and is arriving in less than 30 days. That was the first piece to feature the NRD. Still no Sue Storm. Lastly there was a NRD on Storm, however Savage She-Hulk is the FIRST and ONLY statue so far from Sideshow that has not implemented the NRD. I get the feeling this line is dead in the water. A lot of you might be cheering, but Im not. I actually thought Sue and Storm and Savage She Hulk looked great. Was looking forward to a new Mary Jane, Old School Scarlet Witch, Valkyrie, Hope, X-23, and Black Widow. The only one that looked horrid was Spider-Girl.

Thoughts?

Unless Sideshow wants to save the unveils for SDCC... but they dont have a panel at this years comic con do they?

The Sue Storm Comiquette seems to keep getting delayed, but I'm not sure there's enough evidence yet to assume the line is dead. I'd just wait and see what they show off at SDCC.

Ha, how can you say the line is dead when we have three statues coming from it? And She-Hulk just went up for pre-order and not too long before that Storm....

i think i just explained why. This is the only preorder item that Ive had since 2010 that hasnt shipped... has no mention of shipping... and requires no NRD. Sue Storm is either cancelled or they've found a way to degrade the quality. Most of Sideshow's pieces were above the $200 mark. Seemed odd that this line has yet to deliver, and from a cost perspective is probably the best value offered. They made "enhancements" to Nightcrawler that I wasnt too thrilled about. I dont expect this line to continue if it even gets off the ground. The Women of Marvel series is almost 2 years old...

I'm just pissed that this line has a Storm comiquette and the AH! line doesn't. I want an AH! classic Storm already. What the hell is the hold up at SSC?

As for the women of marvel line....don't care either way. I didn't order anything from it anyway.

Savage She -Hulk is awesome.Nothing dead in that line.

theyre not going to kill their fanboy crack = ****ies...

every year near SDCC people start posting these "Dead" threads because SS starts holding out a little for big reveals at SDCC.
Its like clockwork .... :monkey1

and nothing has shipped yet. that's his whole point :dunno

Sideshow probably wants to make sure that Sue is top notch, since she is the first of the line. You really don't want to start a line out with a dud. Collectible companies really seem to be off with their release dates lately, probably because of the amount of product being pushed. When you release a product after product that are months off from their scheduled releases, maybe it is time to cut down.

Poor sales will push back the release date.
They're (SSC) probably waiting for additional wait list requests before actually producing the artificially "sold out" statue.
This is happening more and more these days.

I think they may be using the fake low quantity bar trip for sue.

The "sold out" tags, and "low quantity" bar are just ploys to get the fence sitters to jump. The industry has been hit pretty hard; the once successful companies are now struggling - relatively speaking.

Yeah, and Sideshow is trying to make even more lines and scales with the 1/5 and 1/4 comiquettes and PFs. You would think they would streamline it now that everything is being hit hard. Most of their recent Marvel products are not selling at 1/5 scale. Look at GI Joe, they are trying to start statue lines and add dio, 1/5 comiquettes, 1/4 scale PFs all at the same time. In a failing economy that's not going to work very well.

You would think they would try to consolidate collectors buying power instead of making even more lines and scales.

The general business model for the comics industry in the past few decades has been to try to sell more books to the same group of customers. The market may be shrinking, but you can always convince customers to buy a few new Batman and Wolverine books every month. The collectibles companies seem to be following suit. But when you're charging anywhere from $150-400 per item, more product really isn't the answer.
