But, really, this thread was never meant to be just about dating/relationships. Seriously, what IS this obvious divide between the two sexes (or day I say two species)??

That's the thing, women are attracted to jerkholes. Treat a woman like a jerk and they'll always come back to you.

But to your first point -- estrogen being evil -- estrogen and testosterone are powerful drugs. Estrogen makes a person into an attention whore, selfish and insecure about their looks and in direct competition with every other woman. Testosterone makes a person into an a-hole, insecure and selfish in their own way -- a way I can completely understand and deal with being one myself.

The clash comes from woman dealing with men like they're fellow women and vice versa.

And it doesn't help that there are groups telling women that they are entitled to certain things just because they are a woman -- like doors being held or heavy objects being moved or their word being given more weight just because men are physically stronger. The groups and mothers telling little girls that there's a Prince Charming who will come and take care of them are doing them a great diservice.

it's as simple as you want it to be. chicks dig confidence. show it and you'll get some.

One thing I've noticed is that it always takes two to tango. There's nothing a woman can do wrong that a man can't do worse.

To say women are all messed up and illogical is to say that men aren't, which would be completely ridiculous (trust me, I'm a guy, I know). You might say women are selfish too, but then, just look at the collections so many of us treasure--for ourselves. That's not exactly an act of charity, but we enjoy it, which is cool. Let's not peg the ladies for doing similar things. Women are wonderful, but if you wait for the right one to come along you'll wait forever. You have to make yourself the right one for them before you can find the right one for you. That's how my parents have done it, and they've been married for over 30 years with 7 children--and they're wonderfully happy. It's about sacrifice and giving up things for them, and not expecting them to give up things for you. That's selfish.

You have to give a lot more than you take, or else you're just gonna run dry every time.
