this (as a 1/4 PF) would be an instant purchase for me

THIS would be POed the SECOND I saw it. The only delay would be my login time at the SSC site.

Yeah' the first WW I originally posted by Erik is real nice.It would make a nice PF.Someone else used it after I posted it so it's making the rounds. And I agree his Starfire is Smooth.

here is another WW by Erik

I think this one is equally awesome, and would make a great second PF ... When they get to the action posses.

Re: Wonder Woman for late 2012

I work with a comics convention in Louisville, KY that is strongly aimed at independent artists and I'm definitely going to talk to the show organizer about getting in touch with Erik Basaluda and seeing if he would like to be a guest at the show next summer! His stuff rocks!!!!

:exactly::exactly: Insta-buy for me.

The reason I tend to know AH in these thread is that for me he's very hit or miss. Some of his art I really like and some I just really don't.

Re: Wonder Woman for late 2012

Yes image style art! :clap

Not really Image style art, a company doesnt have a style its artists do. I would call this more ASL(After Silvestri and Lee). It has defined influences from BOTH guys. Now I KNOW they helped form Image, BUT most of the Image guys had stuff that looked VERY different from this(aka Valentino,Larsen, MCFarlene). Hell Liefeld couldn't have touched this level of work on his BEST day.

Regarding your comment on Liefeld----I wholeheartedly agree!!! I think the guy must've slept through any art classes he took that pertained to proper anatomy!!! His wrists and ankles are so teeny-tiny that they couldn't support a fly much less a full size person!!!!

Now Erik's art, while it may have influences from Lee and Silvestri, I think is better than both because he seems to have a more realistic grip on the actual construction of the human body and how joints move and juxtapose to one another. I'd rank him up there near Ivan Reis, actually....

Liefeld was Inked by McFarlene to start his carieer which helped him a lot, and then he had the luck to be involved with one of the "IT" character of the 90s. Cable. The same MCFarlene did with Venom/Spiderman. Now McFarlened has loads more talent, but the MOST of the Image guys got VERY lucky in terms of being in the RIGHT PLACE at the right time. Very few of them are around anymore in any REAL capacity because they either faded away or moved on. Lee and Silvestri are the ONLY two I ever get excited to see what they are working on. Okay I will add Keown to that list, but I have never really included him in that bunch.

As for Eriks art I need to check out more of it to get a better feel for his dynamics and anatomy. He is damn talented though judging from these pics.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Keown :rock2ROCKED:rock2 out on the HULK when he was doing that book! I had never bought an entire stretch of the series (except for the Kirby and Trimpe runs) besides Keown's. I thought he captured the massiveness of the character very well!!

I am assuming you read Hulk The End. That is an awesome story. I am considering getting a commission from him eventually.

That's some cool history right there. I wasn't aware of all that.

Re: Wonder Woman for late 2012

There's a real sameness to all of Benes work. Only the costumes and hair styles seem to change, the rest is pretty much constant.

Re: Wonder Woman for late 2012

a keown commission will almost set you a back a good chunk of a year of your kids college :lol

I apologize to everyone for this slight segway away from WW.But Keown and Hulk were mentioned. So I had to share this.

Dale did this in 2002 one of the 5 style guides 3K then.3 Incredible Hulk pages from 371 and 373 were 350-450ea in 1993 and 2 pages pages from Hulk the end were 750-950ea in 2003.
His artwork on the Hulk really changed from an almost Kirby style on his Incredible Hulk run in 1990-92 to his own creation in Hulk the End.And the 5 Style Guides.
