I ordered WW exclusive a couple of days ago and it arrived today. Very fast delivery. After all the negative reviews I had initially decided to pass on this one, but the sculpt looked amazing and I decided to order her while I was still able to get the exclusive. Yes you can still order the exclusive. The numbers are running high so I wouldn't wait too much longer if you want they ex version.
I was grateful not a single piece was broken. My complaint is the fitting of the exclusive axe hand and the really poor looking paint job. Compared to PF Harley Quinn's mallet Wonder Woman's spear looks horrible. The PF Harley Quinn Mallet looks like real wood. The detail is amazing and the paint contouring is fabulous. The same cannot be said the the PF WW spear. WW's spear, axe, sword, and shield just look incredible cheap. Virtually no paint contouring was done so all those items are very one dimensional and disappointing visually. The helmet isn't bad though it is a shame they didn't do 2 head sculpts with one having the helmet on. Now that would have been something. For something as iconic as WW's shield the paint job is pretty poor as well. As for the the figure, compared to the photo's ive seen on the net the paint is not as bold as what the photographs show. The colors on my WW statue look really dull and muted by comparison to the other SS PF's I have. As though she is covered in dust. Where as the paint on my Poison Ivy PF ex looks spectacular this WW PF looks like it is not even a Sideshow PF product. This is not what I am use to seeing from Sideshow, not even close. There is also quite a bit of flashing on the figure and weapons as well. Like a car with bad body work. Bondo filler that was never sanded and smoothed and someone painted over it. Its one thing that its like that on the weapons and some other areas, but the skin should be smooth! You can also see that the person who painted this did not even try to eliminate the dust on the figure. They just paint right over dust as well.
Having said all the negative I have to say with out doubt the design and concept of this Wonder Woman is amazing. Simply amazing, truly. What happened to quality control? Poison Ivy is by far a more demanding piece to paint and sculpt and yet she is virtual perfection. A sculpt worth every penny ( and I bought that one late off ebay ). Sadly the same cannot be said for Wonder Woman PF. In the hands of a professional painter this would be Sideshows best piece ever hands down. I have both Batman and Superman of the Trinity and those 2 are amazing but next to Wonder Woman she looks like she could decimate both of them easily. This sculpt of WW she is a portrayed as a true Amazon. Untouchable and one mean *****. The sculpt concept is AMAZING!
I am still glad I got this one but the paint and fitting of the hand destroys what should have been Sideshows best piece. I hope this isn't a sign of what to expect in the future from Sideshow.
