It's so amusing watching people get mad at Kit on various threads over these prices increases.
Kit wasn't adding 10% to new orders last week because he felt like making more money off people. He was trying to prevent himself from losing money because the American government decided to start a trade war. He shouldn't be held responsible for a country he's not even a citizen of impacting his business.
Kit also likely didn't raise the price on this $50 because he felt like making more money off people. The cost of production has gone way up. Look for posts from anyone who is in the know on that side of the business. Raw materials has gone up, production has gone up, factories are needing to hire new people so labor has gone up. Kit managing these orders shouldn't be held responsible for that.
And "in stock" pricing isn't something exclusive to Kit. Even in areas outside of this hobby, you usually save some money for not pre-ordering. Businesses need the money to function up front, often at the exchange of some profit. Toys Buying Agent does this, One Man's Hobby does this, people all over eBay do this, and not to bring them into it but Toys Wonderland did it as well. Plenty of other examples.
If Kit suddenly went under because he had to cover the cost of tariffs or duties or production or whatever the hell else, there'd be mass panic, people would lose a ton of money in pre-orders and at the end of the day, one of the few places in this hobby that still have open communication and reliable service would be gone.
Everything across the board in the world is more expensive and there's no end in sight. Stop getting mad at the wrong people.
