And of course the re-issue is more expensive, $50 increase. Hilarious
I don't really want to say this but, I hope no one places a pre-order based on this price lol. People need to show with their wallets that these re-issues or "now in-stock" price increases are not okay.

And I don't have any issues with Kit, I've used his site and had nothing but pleasant transactions but knowing that he does this eh I don't like it. Lim Nathan is also in-stock now on his site, price increased as well.

In stock items usually cost higher than preorder. That’s how it has always been. Kratos reissue costing more is on Onetoys. Production prices has increased everywhere since last year. When original release was up for PO in 2023? Not surprised he costs more now, as production will cost more as well.
However I’m not happy with third party companies playing with Hot Toys prices, they don’t pay for the license so they need to slow down.

I haven't seen any other retailer list the same item once they have it in stock (extra units) for a higher price. I have only see Kit do that and only noticed it recently (last year or so).

I know things cost more and all that but when you have 'x' amount of pre-orders and someone cancels or falls short and then you basically just offer this for an increased price, that's a no for me.

I have yet to see any other retailer re-list Onetoys Kratos so I can't draw any conclusion further than this. Kit was offering the in-stock item for the same price and it was coming without the pre-order bonus cloak and Draupnir spear, at least now for this re-issue they seem to be included.

It's so amusing watching people get mad at Kit on various threads over these prices increases.

Kit wasn't adding 10% to new orders last week because he felt like making more money off people. He was trying to prevent himself from losing money because the American government decided to start a trade war. He shouldn't be held responsible for a country he's not even a citizen of impacting his business.

Kit also likely didn't raise the price on this $50 because he felt like making more money off people. The cost of production has gone way up. Look for posts from anyone who is in the know on that side of the business. Raw materials has gone up, production has gone up, factories are needing to hire new people so labor has gone up. Kit managing these orders shouldn't be held responsible for that.

And "in stock" pricing isn't something exclusive to Kit. Even in areas outside of this hobby, you usually save some money for not pre-ordering. Businesses need the money to function up front, often at the exchange of some profit. Toys Buying Agent does this, One Man's Hobby does this, people all over eBay do this, and not to bring them into it but Toys Wonderland did it as well. Plenty of other examples.

If Kit suddenly went under because he had to cover the cost of tariffs or duties or production or whatever the hell else, there'd be mass panic, people would lose a ton of money in pre-orders and at the end of the day, one of the few places in this hobby that still have open communication and reliable service would be gone.

Everything across the board in the world is more expensive and there's no end in sight. Stop getting mad at the wrong people.

I bought Kratos through One Man's Hobby at an even higher markup than Kit. Never heard of the brand, didn't want to risk a pre-order on something I didn't know how it would come out. So I paid the stupid tax after release. William's markup was even higher than Kit's.

Not mad at Kit. He has to do what he has to do to survive.

I am however extremely frustrated that over the past year third party figures have been rising in price exponentially so quickly. Even before the tarrif thing. These are third party unlicensed figures, for most brands the quality of the products (unless its Lim or MT) is a complete gamble.

If prices keep rising at this rate I’ll stop collecting entirely. Half of hot toys releases are rooted versions, deluxe versions, exclusive versions with a crazy mark up. They try to follow in InArts footsteps. I dont have the funds for that, no, I do. But I simply refuse to pay over €300 for a mass produced figure. It’s not that I cant afford it. I just dont want to. It’s not worth it.

It’s sucking the joy out of the hobby for me. Just makes me sad man. Sure inflation has hit everywhere, and now this tradewar is gonna make it even worse. But this price surge was already going on well before that.
It wont be long until third party will start making “artisan” edition figures, with SW already testing the water with their rooted $500 jill that even on the promotional pictures already looks like ass.
