Im new here, and I look forward to reading the fan's opinions to certain pieces although as of late a lot of the posts are so negative it makes me wonder if anyone is ever pleased with a piece?

What I think some of you should understand is that the Comiquette and Premium Format lines differ for a reason. Comiquettes like Hulk Psylocke and Nightcrawler for instance. What's so wrong with Psylocke looking too Asian? Does everyone have to look white regardless of their ethnicity? As for the Hulk... people complain he looks like a black man with green skin... And God forbid that Black Panther look like a black man because all hell would break loose... :gah: :slap

Nightcrawler and Colossus, I like the fact that they are going more modern with the looks otherwise it would be pointless as to why someone would collect Premium Format and Comiquettes if they want the same artist interpretation. Hulk BTW does have a new look the buzz cut in video games ie-MVC3... and thus far their hasnt been such a fan outcry from videogamers... These characters are half a century old why would they have to look the same as they did back then?

There are some collectors who are stuck in the past and don't like modern interpretations and then there are modern fans who have no interest in classic artists. Then you have some who are never happy. It's the way of the world. Collect what you like and don't worry what others think or say. It's your opinion which matters most.

You're not in a position to be complaining about the complaining on this forum yet.....feel free to post your corrective insight next year...:nana:

i wouldn't worry to much about the negative posts or threads, if you notice the latest poster of late is also a new member and may even be an old member in disguise :dunno

i think most people that are happy with a statue don't even post their opinion, but just like in real life the people that make the most noise are usually the minority. with Bullseye being the excemption:gah:

also some of these people only post to see themselves responded to, usually most of them finally give up and quit posting.

I dont remember a strong racial issue with any of the pieces. :dunno Especially with Black Panther looking like a black man...

In terms of Hulk, I think he looks good, but peoples complaints that he looks like "a black man with green skin" isnt a racial issue...its continuity. Why would Banner gain black features when he hulks out? :dunno

I don't see a great different between the positivity and negativity. Some pieces recieved their due positive reaction like Carnage, Black Panther, Ms. Marvel etc. I think even Ironman maquette was getting good feedback until the paint issues. As usual there are some people from both sides who insult others and call then names when people don't agree with them all the time, but such juvenile behaviour is pretty common in forums. Seems like a lot of valid concerns and suggestions are being brought up, and I'm glad it's all not fake sunshine and rainbows.

The negativity to the recent comiquettes is all on SS. Its not our fault the comiquettes suck as of late.:monkey1

Exactly! Ultimately, who does the fault lie on when approximately 80% of collectors think the Sue Storm comiquette is horrible? Are the collectors to be blamed for an unimaginitive manly looking female comiquette? No, it is the company that produces her! :nana:

I can understand if you actually OWN the pieces in question, yet a lot of people judge prematurely. Theres far more negative criticism, for everytime someone says they like something about a statue theres 15 other "haters" that come to refute it. Its just an observation, Ive been catching up on the lingo and reading past posts.

Quite frankly I really like the Colossus Comiquette, the main criticism that I get from people is the fact that the face looks different and less angular... the more different it looks, the more I want it.... just an observation. Same goes for Sue and the Hulk... the more people that cancel their orders the more likely I will secure myself the amazing art prints.

on second thought keep hating

i really dig the Bullseye EX BTW...

I guess its personal preference, but I could easily say that Adam Hughes Black Queen Statue looks like a ______ in heat... and A LOT of you would disagree. I think THAT is butt ugly. I dont think that the comiquettes as of late are getting worse. Far from it.

I definitely agree with you on a few points. One, some people do judge things prematurely. I definitely do that. You kind of have to when it comes to stating opinions on things that go up for pre-order 6 months in advance. Some people do change their minds when things are officially released and we all get to see the actual in-hand pictures.

For example, when I first saw the She Hulk comiquette, I thought that I was not interested and would never own her. Well, after seeing other's pictures, my mind slowly started to change. I now own her and love her! The opposite holds true as well.

Personally, I think both positive and negative comments are good and constructive. The people that take the time to constructively say, "hey, I am not a fan of the Colossus comiquette because the lines on his face are bad and I don't think he truly looks like Colossus" are very different than the people who will respond negatively by saying something like "eh, fail." Does this make sense?

yes. it does.

i like hearing reasons why people dont like something as opposed to FUG, or FAIL.

Like you said it's all personal preference and freedom of speech.

If you like prints and Colossus face more power to you, but others may not share that view and they are just as entitled to their opinion.

See you said something negative about the Black Queen comiquette and that's your perogative. If you feel that Sue Storm and Colossus is an upward trend in comiquettes versus Mystique and Scarlett Witch, well you're gonna meet a lot people who disagree, but hey they gotta get the 375 people to get the Ex from somewhere.

actually, I've found the "ignore" button very useful lately :lol
