I've listed some items on ebay and noticed quite a bit of shipping quote requests from Mexico.

Even though I am Mexican American, I've always been iffy shipping stuff over to that country. Anyone ever have a problem shipping to Pancho Villa's relatives in Mexico? :dunno

must...........resist.......urge.........for............racial......joke...........

nahhhhhhh

I only worry about Italy.
Wait...Premium Format...Possibly, but thats nothing against Mexico, thats just worry over International shipping with fragile items

As long as the buyer is willing to pay the full cost for shipping. Make it clear that they are responsible for all or any custom fees that they may be presented with (you will do all you can to avoid it; i.e. marking as a gift). Insurance can not be an option because if the cost is listed they are guaranteed to be asked to pay custom fees. Make sure they know any loss or damage is not your fault and that all sales are final.

Shipping PFs internationally is risky, but if the person really wants it......then they'll get it.

I appreciate the info NC. :rock

I've heard shipments tend to show up "missing or lost" many times when shipped over to Mexico, so that was my main concern.

How exactly does something 'Show up' missing or lost? :lol

I've shipped to Italy and Brazil and haven't had any problems, just make it mandatory that they pay for insurance and that you will not be held responsible for lost or stolen packages.

What was his name?
So freakin' funny, Batty! :lol

Danny, a couple of Mexican board members have complained about never receiving items. Sideshow themselves wouldn't even ship there- dunno if that's still true.

You may want them to put, in an email, that they totally understand the risks involved with shipping to to Mexico and that you are not responsible in any way if they never get it.

And save your PO receipt to show that you did ship it out! :lecture

If you ship something to Mexico City make sure they don't return it back to you because you'll have a little something extra in the package....perhaps a flying pig.

I personally never ship to Mexico. I ship things all the time and a guy who works at my local post office was asking me one day if I shipped items to Mexico since he noticed I was shipping something to France. I told him I never have before and he told me never to do it. He is from Mexico himself and he leaned in close and said: "We're thieves." He said tons of packages get stolen that both travel to and through Mexico. He said that it is sad but true and he knows it because he is Mexican and he works for the USPS and sees it all the time.

No matter how much you tell the buyer that you are not responsible for lost items. No matter how many times you state it in your auction and no matter how much you try to emphasize you aren't responsible for the postal carrier, you are. Simple. They just need to file a paypal complaint against you or a non received item dispute through eBay and you'll have to refund the money. Simple as that. There is nothing you can do. The only thing a seller can protect themselves with is tracking info and that isn't always a sure fire thing. It's always your word against theirs and the buyer always seems to win eBay and Paypal's favor.

No matter what you say about responsibility of shipped items in your auction, you will be held accountable if it is lost, stolen or damaged in transit. I promise you.
