Funny, I hadn't thought about the customizers who now sort of use a single thread in the custom gallery as they blog. That may actually be a use for it. Although I'm hoping to start another feature soon that might be better for customizers.

Would there be lesser censorship by mods in the Blogs ?

I'm not sure I understand why people would blog on a forum where they speak their mind anyway. Unless they want to talk about the tabu subjects like religion, politics, ect.

I think that is my opinion as well... what would be the purpose?

Not just customizers Dave, I use a dedicated thread in the Art Show section to serve as sort of a gallery of my stuff, I would likely utilize a blog if it was offered.

I don't think blogs would take away from conversation here. If anything, the people that would make them and maintain them are likely customizers and others who already have dedicated threads about their work, but a blog would be a much more organized manner of presenting their stuff.

The purpose of a blog is for people to share their personal opinions, editorials, news, insight, reviews, whatever without an open forum for debate afterward. Sometimes it's refreshing to just be able to say your piece on the internet and move on, without having to get in silly flame-wars with the haters trying to explain or defend your opinion or position. You just post your blog and get something out there (and off your chest) and be done with it.

That said, I'm not sure what blogs would add to this particular site. We all seem more than willing to share stuff on the forums. Sure, it gets rather ugly at times... but thems the breaks.

...and there are more than enough free Blog sites out there if they really want to blog and have their say! :monkey3

I wouldn't care either way. Depending on how it went I might partake but when you add a blog to a forum its kind of like adding an orange to a glass of orange juice IMHO.
