Re: X-23 Comiquette

Sorry Nash but its not up to par with what a Wolverine Comiquette could/should be. Not bad for the first round of attempts which it was in but its not 1/4 scale, in facts its in a weird scale altogether stuck in between 1/5 and 1/4 and its dwarfed next to PFs and other comiquettes.

What I am hoping is that this lead to a 1/4 Wolverine PF done proper and preferably in this costume:

I must call you crazy. That Wolverine sculpt is excellent. If the scale is bothersome just don't put it right next to the other PFs- put it on a different shelf. :lol

Re: X-23 Comiquette

sideshow can't win....they get accused of only have the licence for certain characters or they main ones so they produce an obscure one & people moan it ain't a main character

Is Marvel the new Star Wars? :lol

Maybe Karma wants SS to do Generation-X pieces, that would really take off.:p

I never understood why some people are so insecure about the size of things. Youre right, it isn't true 1/4th scale, but hey guess what, your Iron Man 1:1 bust ISNT true 1:1 scale either. Yet you love that, probably because you think youre tony stark. But i digress....back to my point....It seems sad to me that people would overlook a great sculpt and statue just because it's smaller than something else.

How does it suck when the sculpt and quality of the piece is good and only the scale is off?

No. This sculpt here:

is passable. Fine for what is it is, one of SSC's first real attempts and much better than the Logan PF.

Now I'm not a huge Bowen fan but this here is excellent for the ol' Tigerstripe:

Not to mention I know that SSC can do better. I know eventually they will do better and I know that when that day comes the Wolverine Comiquette will be lucky to go for retail.

Just my two pennies of course.

I'm really getting sick of this costume. It isn't even his outfit anymore in the comics (it is now even ghey-er).

We need a PF / comiquette with the brown costume. :emperor

Re: X-23 Comiquette

Looks like an interesting piece but not my favorite so it'll really depend on price whether not I buy.

My thoughts exactly, she really looks great, but again...why this character? There are SOOOO many other characters that would, in my opinion, be a far more profitable and popular choice. C'mon, X-23? In this economy, I gotta be very selective on what I buy and, I gotta say it again, still waiting for a core X character.

maybe if we mention Silver Surfer, Thanos, Nova, Apocalypse, Juggernaut there might be some more excitement.
I was honestly thinking we would see Cyclops, Storm, Gambit, or Colossus comiquette next; heck, Cable would have been nic.

Maybe Sideshow is trying to make the more obscure characters who haven't been made by Bowen yet, but this is another choice that boggles me.

At the risk of being quoted later for being wrong I will say you are crazy. :lol

That sculpt is far from just passable it's superior to any other Wolverine ever sculpted. You pointed out the Bowen one which lacks a ton of detail in my opinion. I know different strokes for different folks but honestly I am sensing there is some other reason you are downing this statue....

To be fair this is really obscure. Not to mention that its a newer character that could or could not be a flash in the pan. I like the way it looks and if its not too expensive I'll pick it up but it'll be on the cutting line if things get tight and I have a feeling it'll be the same for a lot of collectors. Obscure is great but when there is a really hardcore Marvel tie so that common as well as old school fans get a kick of it. This is an attempt to give us a Wolverinesque piece that is not sore on the eyes and hope to hit both Marvel fans and AH! fans. It was a risk but we'll see how it plays out.

My outlook...the SS comiquette is perfect for a more realistic approach, thus the more detail. The bowen wolverine is true to comic roots, and portrays what is is meant to portray well.

And yes, I think Mike is crazy as well. I think he needs to recharge his arc reactor....:google
