Re: X-23 Comiquette

Come on guys- X-23 isn't that obscure of a character. I have known about her for so many years now. I have even had figures of her for a while as well. you Marvel collectors really need to read some comic books every once in a while. :lol

Re: X-23 Comiquette

My thoughts exactly, she really looks great, but again...why this character? There are SOOOO many other characters that would, in my opinion, be a far more profitable and popular choice. C'mon, X-23? In this economy, I gotta be very selective on what I buy and, I gotta say it again, still waiting for a core X character.

I was honestly thinking we would see Cyclops, Storm, Gambit, or Colossus comiquette next; heck, Cable would have been nic.

Maybe Sideshow is trying to make the more obscure characters who haven't been made by Bowen yet, but this is another choice that boggles me.

Re: X-23 Comiquette

To be fair this is really obscure. Not to mention that its a newer character that could or could not be a flash in the pan. I like the way it looks and if its not too expensive I'll pick it up but it'll be on the cutting line if things get tight and I have a feeling it'll be the same for a lot of collectors. Obscure is great but when there is a really hardcore Marvel tie so that common as well as old school fans get a kick of it. This is an attempt to give us a Wolverinesque piece that is not sore on the eyes and hope to hit both Marvel fans and AH! fans. It was a risk but we'll see how it plays out.

I thought Mystique was supposed to fit that role?

Re: X-23 Comiquette

I never understood why some people are so insecure about the size of things. Youre right, it isn't true 1/4th scale, but hey guess what, your Iron Man 1:1 bust ISNT true 1:1 scale either. Yet you love that, probably because you think youre tony stark. But i digress....back to my point....It seems sad to me that people would overlook a great sculpt and statue just because it's smaller than something else.

How does it suck when the sculpt and quality of the piece is good and only the scale is off?

:lol Wow my friend did I hit a nerve? Interesting. :D Just my two pennies as I said, why it something to argue about says more about your thoughts on the piece and the need to defend it.....hmmmmm..

I'm really getting sick of this costume. It isn't even his outfit anymore in the comics (it is now even ghey-er).

We need a PF / comiquette with the brown costume. :emperor

Absolutely agree that we need a Brown Costumed Wolverine, hopefully in Jim Lee styling and not the really abstract versions of Michael Turner (R.I.P.) or a couple of others but I'd be lying if I didn't say that I would absolutely buy an Astonishing X-Men version in PF styling.

Maybe Sideshow is trying to make the more obscure characters who haven't been made by Bowen yet, but this is another choice that boggles me.

Nah, it was a gamble yes but I doubt it had anything to do with Bowen. Its an attempt to add more ladies into the line and give something newer and fresh that isn't being done. A lot of people complain that SSC is stuck in the Silver Age and only gently treads into the Modern. Who knows this might sell out amazingly fast and be one of the best pieces out there.

At the risk of being quoted later for being wrong I will say you are crazy. :lol

Agreed. I am crazy.

I am sensing there is some other reason you are downing this statue....:monkey1:lol

:lol Honestly my friend I do not want that piece not even a little bit. I DO on the other hand want a new Wolvie piece done preferably in PF and want it yesterday.

Not at all, it was more of a generalized comment. People don't like bowen because theyre smaller. people dont like comiquettes because theyre smaller. it's a weird phenomenon that I never understood how smaller means crap?

I guess this is where I'd say I'd hate to see that done. I sort of despise the PFs....In my opinion leave the cloth to the figures, and keep statues fully sculpted. The cloth just cheapens the overall appeal to me, even though I own a few PFs, but because I dont have much of a choice in terms of another company putting out 1/4 scale fully sculpted stuff now do I.

That sculpt is far from just passable it's superior to any other Wolverine ever sculpted. You pointed out the Bowen one which lacks a ton of detail in my opinion. I know different strokes for different folks but honestly I am sensing there is some other reason you are downing this statue....
:monkey1:lol

Wrong you are not!

That Wolv Comi is one of if not THE best Comi and representation of that character bar none!

maybe they just want bigger to make up for other short comings :lol

Re: X-23 Comiquette

Let me preface my comments disliking the Wolverine Comiquette by saying again, if the price is reasonable I'm thinking no higher than $249.99 then I'm definitely buying....although she should be shorter and less "shapely" than Mystique so maybe even cheaper....

Word to that, I'd also like to see Sideshow do a Blink PF. That would F'N ROCK!! :rock

Re: X-23 Comiquette

sideshow can't win....they get accused of only have the licence for certain characters or they main ones so they produce an obscure one & people moan it ain't a main character
...not sure how to respond to this. We aren't talking about another Hulk, Ironman, Wolverine, or Spiderman item. The X-Men line has been VERY neglected by Sideshow in the comiquette/PF scale, and, other than Wolverine/Logan, we have Mystique and Magneto. Hardly a main character line up.

So what, just because Sideshow makes stream of 'out-of-the-blue' characters, people shouldn't be frustrated?

I like Bowen, even though I don't own any don't really care about the size there because they've been consistant with their scale which is beyond respectable. As for the Comiquettes, I don't like the Magneto Comiquette because I think the sculpt is horrible, same with the Wolverine. Just my personal thoughts, the fact that its not 1/4 is bothersome but not necessary, the Iron Man Comiquette are not true 1/4 scale, they are unfortunately in between but I love those sculpts. Picking on his size just plays on the irony because Wolverine himself is only 5'3" and it usually causes a ^^^^ stir online because people rush to its defense. :lol

I feel the same way.....

Yes she looks pretty cool in that pose...but.....Marvel being filled to the gills with so many more popular characters which most are craving for and we get.....her?

No disrespect meant for her supporters, afterall she does look cool but I will have to grade this announcement with a:

:banghead:slap:slap:slap:slap

I'd love an AOA Blink with the energy arrows (light ups?) and cloak but I will say its far down the line of wants behind Daredevil, Thanos, Sabretooth, Brown Costume Wolverine, Venom, Cyclops, Colossus and a laundry list of others.

Re: X-23 Comiquette

i thinks this will be an easy pass for me.
i'm kinda glad ss is coming out with some of these tier 2 characters, that way it can give me a break from ordering everything. while giving my wallet a rest.:rotfl:rotfl

Re: X-23 Comiquette

I like the fact that Sideshow goes for this kind of characters...but is it me or she looks a little cartoony? change-o-head maybe for the EX?

AGHRAHHH!! SS your killing me. I can't stand the PF statues. I'm looking to get your heavy hitters in comiquette form: Hulk, Spidey, Cap, or Thor. You give us X-23? What's next? Are you going to give us the Scarlet Spider-Man? Make at least one of the Iconic characters next. Give me something to look forward to please.
