Re: X-23 Comiquette

I'd love an AOA Blink with the energy arrows (light ups?) and cloak but I will say its far down the line of wants behind Daredevil, Thanos, Sabretooth, Brown Costume Wolverine, Venom, Cyclops, Colossus and a laundry list of others.
While I love Blink's look in AoA, I'd prefer to see her like this...

Most definitely!! :rock:lecture
:rock :rock :rock

I agree, Innocence Lost, Target X and NYX are great reads and the art is hot. She has been in so many crucial mutant arcs so no way is she too obscure to do a statue of.
Obscure? You guys go on the Marvel section and don't even know this character? :lol
:lecture :lecture :lecture

Yup, she's a great character and I'll say again that I'm happy to see her getting the comiquette treatment.

Re: X-23 Comiquette

Weird choice, I never saw Adam Hughes draw Laura, in any sketchbook. As far as I'm concern,I really like this character, a female Wolverine with the same bada$$ attitude, sweeet. Is she going to be hairy as Logan when she'll be older ?

Re: X-23 Comiquette

Cool and hot looking statue. I have a feeling it's not Adam Hughes' this time.

It has already been stated it is NOT an AH comiquette. It is a piece from Sideshow's regular comiquette line :peace

Re: X-23 Comiquette

The sculpted boobs would be too small if it were Adam Hughes. :lol (God bless that man)

Re: X-23 Comiquette

Aww man i would love a AoA blink, and hell all the AoA females!!!! :chew

X-23 is from AOA so you got one of your wishes.

Age of Apocalypse
Kirika; art by Chris Bachalo.

In the 2005 miniseries X-Men: Age of Apocalypse, a version of X-23 was revealed to exist in the Age of Apocalypse, going by the name Kirika. She was found in one of Mister Sinister's labs after it was liberated by Magneto. At the end of the miniseries, it was revealed that she was the daughter of Weapon X (Wolverine) and Mariko Yashida. Unlike her Earth-616 counterpart, she has three claws on her hands; the metal was grafted on by Magneto, and he did so on her request.

Re: X-23 Comiquette

My girlfriend won't allow me to order girl statues, so meh... pass.

And Bodie, I can deal... rather have a real woman than one made of polystone anyway. :D

Re: X-23 Comiquette

X-23 is far from being obscure. She has her own X-23 and NYX comic book out. She is on the X-Force comic book, which I think is really good. She has been on Uncanny X-men where she wears her jungle outfit. SHe was on Messiah complex, which I think is a great read as well. etc.... Again, far from obscure, from an avid comic book reader at least.
I hit the comic shop every Wednesday and have collected X-Men (Uncanny, New/Legacy, Astonishing) for close to 25 years. I also collect Mighty/New Avengers. So I knew who she was, but was very disappointed.

I think the issue is that Sideshow is neglecting some major characters and releasing 'B' list or, in this case, 'C' list characters. I understand that Sideshow does not want to release every key characters early on. However, my problem is that Sideshow has basically ignored the KEY X-Men characters in the PF/Comiquette format. For this to release X-23 before some of the other X characters is sad; and to most people, X-23 is obscure.

Good point. And it's not like there's only two or three X-Men to choose from. There's plenty, so there's no worries of running out of A-listers any time soon. I don't think one (at the very least) would hurt.

Re: X-23 Comiquette

Kibishii,

Have you read the new X-Force? It's turning out to be better then expected. :D

I thought about picking it up a few times, but after I read New X-Men and the new X-Factor during Messiah Complex, I decided to stay with the main three. I will probably pick up the set or a TPB of the first issues off eBay later. I do love what Ellis and Yost are doing with the X-Men by turning them to more of a militant group than the peace loving, "can't we all get along" X-Men. Cyclops is a mix of Magneto and Xavier.

Re: X-23 Comiquette

X-23? Not interested.
I don't Like the character much and dislike the constant Marvel Female superhero "clones". It seems every notable Marvel female superhero character is a fem version of a already existing male character. Although there are a few that I do like such as She Hulk, I'm just against the general trend.
About the only female heroes that are original are either 2nd string, In the X-Men (excluding X-23), or Invisible Woman (I'd like to add Scarlett Witch, but they turned her into a villain again).

I'm going to pass on this one.

Pick up the trade when it's offered. I think you'll like it!

Re: X-23 Comiquette

Is it just me or is SS paying too much attention to Weapon X?

I'd love to see the cosmic entities shown some love. Bowen's Thanos is going for well over USD300. That's money I'd rather spend on a 1/4th Thanos PF or Comiquette

Re: X-23 Comiquette

I am THRILLED that Sideshow is making an X-23 statue. I've been reading comics for more than 34 years, and X-23 is honestly one of my five favorite characters of all time. Is this Sideshow statue a surprise? Of course! But it's a much welcome surprise to me. I think the statue is looking fantastic.

But I hope Sideshow is getting X-23's eye color correct. Sometimes, the comics colorists have screwed up by giving her brown eyes like Logan. She has GREEN EYES! The "Innocence Lost" miniseries that revealed her origin had the eye color absolutely correct, as does the current "X-Force" series. I hope the statue is correct, too. :)
