Quadcent I am shocked and saddened by your lack of faith - is that US or Canadian dollars?

So this may be a dumb question, but why couldn't someone in the US get their hands on this and just pay extra for the international shipping?

Let me tell you how much you are spending to buy an item from Sideshow.

eg: Iron man Life size bust: 699 $ + 30 $ shipping = 730 $

Let me tell you how much I am spending to buy an item from Sideshow.

eg: Iron man life size: 699 $ retail + 300 $ shipping + 250$ customs and other taxes(since the vaule of the item exceeds the permissible limits as per Turkish law ) = 1250 $

Even the smallest Bowen busts I am buying for 50 $, I am paying 40 $ for shipment and 10 $ for taxes, which makes 100 $.

In summary, if I was living in US, I would have 100 items in my collection instead of 50.

Sent a message about 7:03 AM...GMT that is. Though I've a feeling it was probably looong gone by then. Imagine finding that after all this time, do you suppose the Ark of the Covenant was next to it as well?

Finally an EU customer sticks up for themselves. I was wondering if any EU people would come on here and tell all us American Yahoos (oops....and Canadian) to shut it and let them actually have a shot at something.:D

In the same way that the newsletter gets posted at around 2 in the bloody morning over here, it's incredibly hard for us to order items with small edition sizes. So unless it's not in demand or there are a lot of cancellations it can be a bit of a bugger.

Yup, totally agree with that, in fact I have complained to SS about it before, only to be told that US companies will email at US times, which is fair enough but its amazing how they manage to do PPO's to cover more people  I mean why not the NL and/or express updates as well?!?

I only managed to get on the SIM PPO page because I had the day off work, otherwise it'd have been impossible and I wouldn't have the bad boy on my shelf. I guess what we're trying to say is well, how to put it.......suck our balls? Yes, that'll do.....suck our balls.

man i thought shipping and brokerage to canada sucked. i feel for ya man.:sick

yep, it is really difficult to collect out of US, and Canada in this regard

By the way, I got an e-mail from EU customer service, confirming

that I didn't win :)

as said, I was late due to my meeting. Congrats to one that gets this grail at retail price.

:lol:lol:lol good one, you actually had me at confirming, for a brief moment i think i was actually happy for ya, then the hammer dropped. good one

btw, similair senario for canada would be $699+$80 shipping and about $120 brokerage and taxes = $899 of course that's us funds, so i don't know your exchange rate, or even your currency, but in cdn funds it works out to $1123.00 at todays exchange rate.
the exchange is what really kills us, to think only a few months back our dollar was the same or better than the us greenback.

TL/$ ER was 1.35 like 3 months ago, it is 1.65 now and I have a feeling that it will pass the 1.7 level in the next 2-3 weeks. The world is in a serious crisis now and I start to think twice before purchasing expensive items

I already had the sentinel vs x-men # 1 regular version and it would be awesome to get the exclusive and sell my regular but, I guess it wasn't my time.

I agree. Living here in Australia, it's horrible buying collectibles from the US.

If the exchange rate wasn't so bad, seriously, I'd have double the items in my collection than I do now.
