People seem to forget that Apoc can change his size at will.

But is that really the explanation of why Apoc is so short in that picture? Doubtful. Oscar Isaac is practically a pygmy. Singer's costume design and art direction has always been his weakness. Any design improvements seen in DoFP can be chalked up to Vaughn.

Would it have been so hard to do this?

That's the thing though: there doesn't need to be any practical reason for anything in these films. They are based on comic books. And my beef with not looking like their counterparts in the comics, is that comics are a largely visual medium; many people are familiar with characters just on looks, not on storylines. The look of the character is such a major part in who they are.
A good point. I particularly agree with the part in bold. I've read many times about how a movie has to explain how a character ends up in a ridiculous, colorful costume. I don't agree with that. If the story treats it like it's just something that happens in this "universe," then the audience will roll with it, just like they did in Superman: the Movie, and in the Spider-Man movies as well if we're being honest (there is no rational, real-world justification for a guy dressing like that). Batman is pushing it about as far as it can go, though Nolan did a commendable job.

Well, if we are talking practicality, then they would have either regular civilian clothing to blend in, or what military special operations teams wear. There is zero practical reason for ANY of the costumes worn in these movies.

Huh? Have you seen X1, X2, and FC?

And movies as you know are a totally different medium, some things in the comics won’t work in the movies. Batman Begins, Man of Steel, X-Men First Class, The Winter Soldier and Iron Man are just some of the movies that have given practical reasons for these grown men to dress up like weirdos and go out and fight crime. Lazy writing is lazy writing, and poor Hawkeye is a victim of it. Poor Renner is really way too talented to be stuck playing that character.

I have seen them, so what is the practical reason for wearing motorcycle leathers as their combat uniform?

I don't think that it would of been hard, and it isn't like they weren't aware of his appearance obviously. I can't speak for the studio. I would of preferred this to what we got of course, but it is what it is. Maybe his performance will make up for it.

I don’t think these movies have to go as much in depth as Nolan did with Batman Begins, but I think they should give at least a reason. Someone showing up out of nowhere in a colorful costume like Magneto did in DOFP is a bit ridiculous to me, even for these movies.

He's got the A on his belt/abs.

What do you guys think of the other costumes?

Actually is it the whole look of Apocalypse you guys don't like or just the face/size?

Personally, I love Psylocke..she looks straight out of the comics as I remember.

I wasn’t talking about their costumes, but the fact that when they do go out, they do indeed dress as civilians to blend in. First Class, Iron Man, Batman Begins were some of the movies I listed that gave reasons for their costumes.

I actually liked the flight suit-esque uniforms in First Class. I thought that was a good balance and lacked any of this silly armor business.

Great 'vision' with that photoshopped pic because I'm REALLY underwhelmed with Apocalypse. Of course, I'll still see the movie, but I'm hoping that this is far from the finished product. I like the stiletto idea. :lol
