Well who is left from First Class? Beast, Mystique, Prof. X., Magneto, and in a lesser sense, Havok. Prof. X and Magneto aren't going anywhere, I'm sure, Havok is a non-factor thus far (though we see him in a trailer), and

Mystique is rumored to be leading the team when all is said and done here?

So, I'm not sure if I can see how this ends their arcs in a general sense, really. Seems like a straightforward sequel if what is presumed to take place does take place here.

The team bands together at last when Magneto turns against Apocalypse and shields Charles, Jean and Scott with metal beams. Then they basically throw everything they have at him, but nothing they do works until Jean strips Apocalypse of his armor at Charles' telepathic urging, and the fire she unleashes forms the shape of a Phoenix around her.

Honestly, as much as I love the guy, it might do the series some good to get some time away from Magneto in the next one. Cosmic stuff with the Shi'ar, Imperial Guard, Starjammers, Phoenix, etc. please. I will also accept the Mutant Massacre.

Ah man you’re scaring me, please don’t tell me you have some insider knowledge that this movie is being poorly received.

I agree, I think Magneto and his Brotherhood could get a spinoff or show up in anyone of the other X-Men films they’re planning, but they definitely need to give him a break.

I know Singer has hinted that the X-Men might be going in a cosmic direction. I just don’t know if the Phoenix stuff will be through evolution like X2/X3, or extraterrestrial like the comics, because that would be the perfect time to get Shi’ar involved, Kree, and hell, maybe even somehow have Galactus cameo

Every Singer-directed X-Men film has had a Rotten Tomatoes score of 80 or higher, so I'm not sure why anyone would seriously be expecting a low score here. Of course, it's possible, but would fly against the established track record. This isn't like Snyder, whose very highest score is a 75, but whose average was more like a 50 going in to BatmanVSuperman. Not that mass reviewer opinion is the end-all, be-all.

I’m just not as confident in this one based on the trailers, but everything I read in interviews from Singer and the rest make the movie sound far better than what the trailers make it look, so I’m 50/50 on this. DOFP I was extremely confident in because it had some much talent working on it, Vaughn and his team basically wrote the script, then when Singer came on board to direct he changed it up a bit but the foundation he had to work with was solid. Then the trailers were amazing, and I don’t think its possible to have a badly direct Singer X-Men film with Hugh Jackman in the lead.

Damn I didn’t know Marvel had the Kree.

I know, I just thought that the Kree, Skrulls, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were among the few characters that both Fox and Marvel could use. I thought I remember reading it a while back but it was probably a dream

With bad reviews this is getting, this movie is going to flop hard at the box-office.

Well, X3 was one of the more successful X-films, and it was terrible, so even if this one does somehow turn out lackluster, I wouldn't expect that to mean it will flop. But lord knows I hope it doesn't suck! Singer hasn't turned in a stinker yet.

right now its sitting at a 43%

X3 came at a time where many superhero movies didn’t exist, and was the final film of an excellent trilogy so it makes sense why it made money. Apocalypse has way too much competition at the box office, plus people aren’t as excited for Singer’s X-Men films as they were back then. I think this gonna flop badly if the poor reviews keep coming.

It would be pretty crazy if this movie turns out worse than X3
