No thanks. Iron Man 3, and Thor 2 weren’t as good as the last two Fox X-men films. And Singer hasn’t made a bad X-Men movie yet. In fact the series went downhill when he left, and became good again when he returned. I have faith this will be the best summer blockbuster film of 2014.

FOX in general does not seem to have as good a grasp on the characters as Marvel, IMO. I'd love it if Marvel got X-Men and Spider-Man back. Guaranteed visual design on X-Men would leagues better than this unimaginative crap.

I'd agree on those films but in my case, I was never a fan of the comics, so I wasn't really all that disposed to like them to begin with (though I'd rate the original IM and Thor quite highly). You also can't argue that Marvel isn't doing something right with Iron Man, given what that series has grossed. I'd rate all of them better than what FOX did with FF and a lot of aspects in regards to X-Men. X-Men 1 & 2 were a good start (biggest weaknesses being special effects and bland character design) but I think the franchise is sorely in need of a refresh. What I'm seeing here doesn't make me look forward to how they're going to butcher Apocalypse.

I’m not big on Chris Evans as Captain America, but I think WS looks pretty good. It will easily be the best marvel movie of phase 2. It won’t be making more money than DOFP though. Unfortunately for Marvel, Fox has the female Robert Downey in Jen Lawrence. If the reviews are decent enough, this will be a pretty big money maker.

I see Evans being a bigger box office pull than Hemmsworth and Dark World pulled in $632,909,243 worldwide. Lawrence might be a pull, but if you're talking "cred," Redford easily spanks her in that department. She might be hot, but not in the X-franchise (not without a nude shower scene or something ). Jackman's a better horse to bet on given Wolverine pulled in $400mil, but that's still $200mil shy of IM3 and Dark World. Winter Soldier will match the two other Marvel films, easily.

Jennifer Lawrence is associated more as Katniss Everdeen than Mystique. moviegoers think of Rebecca Romin when it comes to Mystique in the x-men films. people go see the x-men movies for hugh jackman. i know you are going to say first class didnt have him advertised in the movie but that scene with him was one of the most talked about scenes, up there with the scenes of Magneto and Charles Xavier

I get the feeling we'll be seeing Cheadle pick up the suit for an IM4 after Phase 3 is done (which is consistent with the comic as Rhody wore the suit for a bit - Secret Wars). So we'll see how believable he is by then. I wholly agree about Howard though. Shame he threw a jealousy tantrum.

I was extremely skeptical for ASM before it came out and I hated the idea of it from the very beginning. I saw it for the first time a couple months ago and it was as bad as I hoped for

The suit was disgusting, and even with the change back to a more comic oriented outfit of ASM2 I think it will end up being a worse film.

I think both you and Nam have valid points here when it comes to JL and CE.

The Oscar win, Anorexia games and her breasts have definately elevated that girl.

But CE is well loved and has also gained a pseudo cult following.

ASM=MOS for me. Two extremely underwhelming films that had no reason to be as bad as they were.
