If it makes half Avengers money, it will be a huge return to form for them. Do all the X-Men together make RDJ pay? :lol

And Nam and Kara80 are dead on, whether anyone wants to admit it or not, until they can find someone else with the onscreen charisma he possesses, Jackman is the RDJ of this franchise.

Jackman will continue to do the character as long as he can probably.

This is my hope. I wouldn't care if somehow Marv/Dis got X-Men back, I'd welcome Jackman to cross over. I wasn't sold on Jackman as Wolverine when X-Men started, but now, 15 years later, I can't even read a Wolverine comic without hearing Jackman's voice. If they do reboot without him someday though, I hope they go totally opposite of Jackman, I don't think it would work to try to emulate him, best just to have a new take on the character.

He's already made it clear that it's all about the story at this point. Honestly, if FOX is smart (wishful thinking), they'd drop all the Wolverine stories ever published in his lap and let him pick what he wants to do. At this point, keeping him happy and in the role will keep the franchise healthy, so they need to milk it now, before he gets to the point where the only option left is Old Man Logan.

:exactly: :goodpost: Jackman is to Wolverine what Ford is to Indiana Jones. :lecture:lecture:lecture

Hard to believe X1 is almost 20 years old. I think Marvel would welcome Jackman if they took over, they would have another big draw like RDJ under their belt. I wouldn't want someone trying to copy him either, one thing is for sure they need to step up their workouts to hold a candle to what Jackman looks like now :lol

Anyone know how much this movie cost to make ? You got to add marketing in to it has to make at least 300 mill more to make a profit from what it costs.

Looking back at the earlier films, that's a problem with Box Office Mojo, it doesn't always list enough information to even roughly estimate profit. You need to factor in budget, foreign ticket sales, worldwide marketing costs, and account for inflation just to get a general idea.

A problem in general, because although some movies seem to thump their chest about their advertising "allowance" (or lack thereof) it seems the majority of films are tight lipped on it, and I never understood why it was so secretive or if its just a hard to estimate due to some movies haivng shared ad budgets with merch. companies.

For some movies, merchandising is another big factor (apparently a huge reason Cars had a spinoff and sequel), then there is home video stuff as mentioned. . .
