Can't wait for news on the story. Man i hope we see Sentinels or Bishop in the future scenes, i'd hope Bishop wouldn't be racelifted though.

A good movie with lots of material can be 4 hours long and be enjoyable. "Fleshing things out" in most movies means long periods of boring where the audiences fall asleep. That's more likely what you would get here if they tried that. I think its just Jackson's style to make films 3+ hours long. I don't think Singer could pull it off like him, even if he story is complex.

Superhero movies really aren't in the same category as LotR/Hobbit. Those are a bit higher class if you will. Comic based movies need more explosions and fighting than character development. At least that is what the audience is expecting. The Dark Knight is the exception to that rather than the norm. I mean, even Fantastic Four and Ghost Rider did well enough to get sequels.

In the right hands, a long film could be just fine. But I don't feel Singer needs to make this a 3+ hour film when the usual 2-2 1/2 hours would do just fine.

I agree Singer probably shouldn't make a 3+ hour movie. I also agree The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings are higher on the scale than comic books.

Apparetnly Hugh Jackman said this... "You wouldn't have enough room on the page after you've listed them all. Every other actor who's ever put on a superhero uniform will be in it. There's an element of time travel and, naturally, it will be action-packed."

It may have been a joke seeing as how he said every actor who's ever put on a Superhero costume and not X-Men costume

But if true i'm cautious. More original characters means potentially less screentime for for the First Class crew. though if they were all or mostly all confiend to future sequences prologue then that'd be fine.

I caught an episode of the 'Graham Norton Show' recently, & James McEvoy (along with Tarantino) was a guest.

He came across as a little self important at the start to be honest - especially his banter with Tarantino, but he kinda removed his pole as the show went on.

Eh, Singer has a decent ability to juggle characters... at this point I think it helps seeing as how he fumbled Superman Returns. Who knows, but I'm game for this. Hopefully we get some great character designs from it!

Has there been any word on if Kitty Pryde will be in the storyline?

I would hope that Ellen Page might come back to reprise her role from X-Men:The Last Stand if they did use Kitty.

I doubt it'll happen though.

Re: Xavier losing his hair. Wasn't there a bit of dialogue when Charles first tries Cerebro in XM:FC that he would get better "reception" if he were to shave his head? I always thought it was a set up that he eventually would shave his head in order to have Cerebro work better.

Or it could be a side-effect of using Cerebro that his hair follicles would be damaged and would eventually fall off.

God I hope not. After Xavier and Magneto being excellent leads in the last one, it would be a shame if they suddenly got shoved into the background so the movie could focus on a minor character from the worst X-men film.

Just because Kitty might be the focus of the movie doesn't mean that everyone else will get relegated to glorified cameos. An X-Men movie is still an ensemble piece (like Firefly! ), so I just see Kitty as being the focus (or goal?) of the other characters like Xavier and Mags. Kinda like River was the focus of Mal and the Alliance. Or like Saffron.

Good points.

Page definitely has the ability to deliver a great performance and I would hope that the story would follow the comic as far as Kitty is concerned.

Like you said, she is the central character in the story.

Just speculation at this point. But since Kitty was central to the comic plot, we're thinking why not go with Page? Admittedly X-3 was terrible, and she didn't have much to do in the movie. But this could be her opportunity to make something of the role. And why not cash in on her popularity now that she's done Inception?

In the comic Kitty doesn't actually travel through time, her mind does. She takes over the mind of her younger self to warn the other Xmen of coming events. There is no Kitty Pride in the X:FC film series, so they will need to pick a different character.

I can't think of any reason why future Professor X couldn't send his mind back to FC era Xavier. It could even trigger physical effects such as hair loss, new wrinkles...

Becuase it still means shoving the two characters that everyone cared about in the first movie into the background to focus on one that (lets be honest here) no one does.

These movies are about Charles and Magneto. Making the main focus be any other character does not work. This isn't like tv where we have time to give every minor character thier own episode every once and awhile.
