Guess, I didn't see or feel anything magical about XFC. Its a solid flick but if I want to say I felt anything "magical" I would use that for Thor for sure and Cap as well.

As the nearest/best movie theatre for me is a full hour's drive away I watched GL and X-Men FC as a double feature-- racing after the end credits of GL into the last trailer before X-Men FC. Maybe it was partially due to the less than impressed feeling that I had after exiting GL (which to me was OK... but no where near what I thought it could have been with the source material) but X-Men FC blew me away in comparison (and there was no way not to compare after seeing them in a double feature). I still put Cap and Thor slightly ahead of X-Men FC... but it was definitely the BEST of the X-Men movies (even ahead of the original X-Men in my mind).

I agree its probably the best X-Men movie. Its just nothing special as far as a "magical" feeling goes or compared to other films I've seen this year. As I said before here or someplace else this would be the 4th best comic film I've seen this year. I enjoyed Thor, Cap, and GL more than this one. :dunno

Infraction given.

:lol I had such high hopes for it too! I liked it. Just not as much as I would have liked to. The propaganda dancing scenes went on for way too long. If they would have just taken those dance scenes out maybe my opinion would be different :dunno The talking for a superhero movie wen't in too long as well. And it seemed like the story never got anywhere in their conversations. I don't know. I sure did not enjoy it as much as even Thor (which I thought was decent).

I think the problem is that Marvel is whipping out their movies so fast that they are starting to lose that magic they use to have. I would gladly take another Iron Man or Spider-Man and have to wait a few years, then having Marvel do so many a year.

I never saw Green Lantern though. So I guess out of the 3 I saw (Cap, XM, Thor) It goes:

XM
Thor
Cap

Funny part is I never liked the X-Men, this movie changed my mind though.

..I felt that Spiderman/Ironman "magic" with Cap and First Class (haven't seen Thor yet)..

Did you? I thought Evans did a pretty good job and liked all the stuff to do with Stark's papi. But even then, there was something wrong with the pacing for me. Just a little off? It almost seemed like they did Cap, with the intentions of doing him for the Avengers. Not cause they actually wanted to make a movie with him. I liked the villain but the story just seemed out of place.

Now that I think about it, I kinda agree. I did kinda feel like the movie had more of that Avengers feel to it.. Like it was sort of..rushed..or whatever. Like you said, it felt like an Avengers movie, not a Captain America movie.

I thought it was a REALLY great movie though, much better than I expected..

I never really cared for Ironman, Cap and Thor.. I was always an X-men kid, and loved watching the cartoons.
That may be why I enjoyed First Class so much..

The Spiderman trio are my all time favorite superhero movies, though.

Oh, I'd like to add.. I think Evans was as perfect for Cap as RDJ was for Ironman, and I'm sure Hemsworth is the same for Thor..

Yup, one thing that's for sure is Marvel's casting. They have all been spot on. Spidey's are my close up there form me, right behind Batman and Ironman. First Class really shot up the list though.

X-Men was by FAR the best movie I've seen this summer although I haven't seen Thor yet.

While I liked Cap, you guys said it, they kind of rushed the movie trying to get him into Avengers. It seemed like a good amount of the movie was him as either skinny Steve or performing Steve. And then when it came to actually showing Captain America Steve, they did an action montage through it, trying to get to the ending. Still good, but rushed.

X-Men was just pure awesomeness from beginning to end.

Everytime I hear that music from First Class when they begin recruiting, I get chills..and this awesome powerful feeling.. :panic:

So you literally "hated" X:FC Josh? I'm sorry but I guess I just don't agree. To each his own I guess.

No, I didn't say I hated it. I liked it but it wasn't the best movie this summer for me and not really close. I'll be getting it on Blu when it comes out thats how much I liked it. For me though as I said I enjoyed those other three more especially Thor and Cap.

Can't wait to get this on Blu--Ray Steelbook and a bunch of HT figures.

Next to MGS, this is my most anticipated line

This was hands down the best superhero move of the summer. Can't wait for the blu-ray.
