As reported by VideoGamer, Microsoft's director of product planning, Albert Penello, says allegations of a 30 percent advantage for the PlayStation 4 are missing the bigger picture.

"I’m not dismissing raw performance. I’m stating--as I have stated from the beginning--that the performance delta between the two platforms is not as great as the raw numbers lead the average consumer to believe," wrote Penello in a NeoGAF post. "There are things about our system architecture not fully understood, and there are things about theirs as well, that bring the two systems into balance."

Penello's comments were in response to concerns over the internal components of the Xbox One. The alleged performance advantage is mostly attributed to the advanced GPU and RAM found in the PS4. Penello cited the experience of Microsoft programmers in explaining how the Xbox One will succeed, despite the numbers.

Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb agreed with Penello's points in a later Reddit post. "We have some of [the] smartest programmers in the world working on Xbox One," said Hryb. "I am very much looking forward to the next few months (and beyond) as the truth comes out."

It's not M$'s programers I'm worried about.
It's the engineers who gave us the RROD and are over clocking the chip to keep parity with Sony and the corporate yahoos who skipped class the day they talked about public relations and the customer is always right concept.

Why do you think the box is so big? :huh more space equals less heat

They've definitely made sure that it won't have those overheating issues again. One of the big things is that there wasn't any temperature monitoring on the Xbox 360 which meant the system never knew if it was in a situation where it could overheat. The new console adjusts the cooling based off the temperature in the box, and ink says, it's really big which will make it cool better anyways.

Yeah, and the Space Shuttle would never blow up because of a silly O ring issue.

Painting with a broad brush much?
Saint or Sinner the customer (though fickle) still votes
with their disposable income and with this economy any
company showing disdain or neglect of customer wants will pay a price.

Judge them when you get them. I remember everyone saying how much more powerful the Ps3 was to the 360. Now if it was or not I don't know as I know little about that kind of stuff but both systems had there Pro's & Con's & both were equal's in my eyes. I owned both the 360 & Ps3 & I'll own both the One & Ps4. I've sold both my consoles now though to have a break before the new Gen hits, I can't wait

I got a pre 0rder in on Amazon, but I will likely cancel it. I'm sure I will get one eventually. November is going to be an expensive month with Castle Greyskull being released.
