I'll just buy the hard drive. The rest of the stuff doesn't bother me that much since the TV I play on isn't HD and I wouldn't be using this to play HD movies through.

Seems sort of odd to own a $400 gaming system and play it on a TV worth less than that, no?

PS3's are warming shelves around here. Looks like the honeymoon is over.
My Toys R Us can't get rid of them either. Looks like the PS3 isn't going to do so well after all. You couldn't find a 360 till like May the following year when they hit shelves. I could go out right now and get the premium 60Gb PS3. Hmmmm I wounder if Blu Ray will fail too... I hope so. :D

Same here in Illinois. I was in Circuit City on Friday getting a new memory card for our camera and when I went to pay, they had 6 60GB PS3s behind the counter. I asked them how long they've had them there and she said they've been sitting there since Sunday and they've only sold 1.

Yeah, same here in Georgetown, TX... noticed both the 20GB and 60GB PS3's at the local Best Buy a week ago, on a table with accessories right up at the front so you couldn't miss them and yet they weren't sold out!!! :lol

Haven't seen any here but I'm not gonna be getting one. I'll grab the new 120gb hd for the 360 once they start getting sold.

Did this new version appear at CES?
They showed a IPTV X-Box 360 that operates like a cable box and can record TV like a DVR. So maybe all that extra 120 GIG of storage space on the hard drive is for recording TV as well as storing Movies?
I'm glad I've held off buying a 360. I might pick up the new version if it's in my price range, if not the first version might drop to a more affordable price.

I read somewhere that XBox is denying the leaked pictures regarding the HDMI port but I can't find the article. They were also denying any announcement regarding a larger hard drive.

None of this is a surprise though, I wouldn't expect them to confirm anything at this point. They don't want to risk current sales by announcing something that would make people put off buying a system now.

No, not really. I'm a middle class person. Making Middle Class Money. You do the Math.

I asked about this at CES and none of them seemed to know anything about it or at least thats what they said.

Not really... I too have a 360, but I don't have an HD TV yet. I am waiting for prices to drop some more and for formats to stabilize. In the meantime, I got a great gaming system that allowed me to play my old xBox games, as well as newer games that only came out on the 360. How is that odd???

yeah.... with component cables my 360 looks pretty darn good on my 5 year old tv. everyone criticized MS for making the HD drive optional, but when you think about it they were pretty smart. if HD DVD dies they can still support blu ray with an external drive. if you NEED to watch hd movies you can buy it, but if you are just into gaming you dont have to pay the premium price for something you wont need. i think the nail will be in the coffin once MS drops the price, which i think wont be too far off.
