Yeah, it sucks. But that statistic is better than what people thought it was (30%). And it should be going down with the new changes they've made to the console. Though, it doesn't help the people who bought one before fall of last year.

Today, MS announced an immediate price drop for all its remaining Xbox 360 HD-DVD peripherals, from $129.99 to $49.99. The package contains the player, an Xbox 360 Media Remote, a USB 2.0 cable and a copy of King Kong on HD-DVD.

anyone played Turok yet? i saw it at my local walmart tonight. i didn't think it was out yet.

I too was not thrilled with the demo. But the game was actually very fun. The weapons took some getting use to but the single player was enjoyable and the multiplayer, especially co-op, was really fun. Definatley worth a rent and then maybe even a purchase.

Well, it happened again.

I will be sending in my Xbox for the 3rd time. Yep, I will soon be on my 4th xbox!!

The stories I could tell from my hours spent with customer service.

Hopefully this one will last longer than a year. :lol

Welcome to the Big 4 club! I've had my 4th one for about 8 months now I think and so far so good. I had to spend a lot of time on the phone too to have them replace it for free...actually replace it for free since I don't think they replaced it. the logic they finally listened to was, "you have "repaired" it already and apparantly you didn't "repair" it so why should I pay to have you "repair" it again?"

I am only on my 2nd 360 which I have had for over a year now so I guess in a way I am kinda lucky compared to some.

They told me that my xbox is covered for 3 years from purchase date but only on RROD cases. So that means I'll still have time to replace it one more time next year. :D

Does anyone know if MS is going to do anything abnout the load fan/drive that is driving me crazy? I stopped watching movies on the thing because you have to turn the TV up just to hear over the fan/drive noise. I know they are coming out with another version, is there any word on if it will be quiet?

Doubt it. There are different brands of disc drives used in the Xbox 360 and some are worse than others, there's like 3 or so different ones. Unless it makes a large-scale issue that many people get then there's no chance of them doing anything about it. For me I've got my Xbox right next to my monitor/TV and I don't really hear it.

Yeah I have never noticed it that much while playing or watching a movie. I can hear it while its starting but there is normally no sound then either.

Yeah, the noise is horrible, but either it goes away or I just get used to it after a while. But when first starting a game it's bad.

For the Xbox360 returners (the ones who have sent the system in for repair):

I just got off the phone with 1-800-4MYXBOX. I wanted to update their new database with all of my previous tickets (highly recommended). The reason I did this was to set up my case for the upcoming end of the 3 year warranty. This got me thinking.

This 3 year warranty for the RROD is supposedly only going to end 11/2008. The 3 years counts from the launch of the system on. How many believe that this warranty will really end?

Look forward to the future. Its 11/2008 and the PS3 is starting to finally catch up to the Xbox in systems sold. GTA4 is kicking butt, but its on both systems. There is no killer app for Xbox. Metal Gear Solid 4 is coming on PS3. Wii is kicking both of their butts. Does anyone think that this 3 year warranty won't get extended? Its seems like if Xbox started refusing RROD repairs for their established base then it would spell the end of the 360.

So, what do you think? Should I be worried about my Xbox dying after 11/2008?

Yes I would, I believe that will enforce this. They will be cases that can show that it has never been properly fixed but for the most part they are going to enforce the warranty. What I would guess they will do is offer some sort of discount replacement program.

Well, if your console 3 year warranty for the RROD ends in November, then I don't think they'll continue your warranty. They're loosing a bunch of money by extending the warranty so I doubt that they'd extend it more. As for popularity, Gears of War 2 is coming and that's really all I can think of as exclusives, there's a lot of games that are good that are coming out for both.

This is what happened this morning when I turned on my 360

Oh no! :crying

I hate seeing pics like this. It makes me very nervous when this happens as I have an Australian launch model and I have not had the "pleasure" of the red rings yet.

Even though my Xbox360 does not get turned on as much as my PS3 I feel that I am sitting on a timebomb here just waiting for the ineviatble :(

Hope you can get it sorted mate

Didn't you have this happen a bunch of times? If so I would find out if you have a lemon law in your area.

I know in Cali they have a lemon law that states that if something it sent in for the same thing 3 time you can request a replacement.

I would say that you don't want it repaired you want a brand new system if it has happened that many times. Because what happens when they stop covering this?
