It appears you have mixed up the Iron Studios Sentinel (multi) with the XM single Sentinel.

Low edition size means nothing if the statue is not desirable. Too many people all have the same issue with this, the wrong assortment of characters. It may be hard to find in the future if you really want one, but my guess is people won't be totally happy owning this.

LOL....yeah...an Xmen Diorama not desirable featuring 6 x-men and two of their biggest villains. You cannot put all the x-men in it, not at this scale. I happen to think the choice of characters is what makes it even more desirable. There are far too many Cyclops, Storms, etc. There are 50 different wolverines available, and some of them the right scale to go with the statue. Yeah lets buy another wolverine.

The extremely low ES on this statue, its worldwide distribution (least in the USA), its X-men subject, and its difficulty to exchange and resell easily make it the definitive statue to own period for investment and presentation (wow factor). Initial and aftermarket Price doesn't change that as well.

I see no point in buying statues just for investment purposes. Buy it if you have the money and space to display it, otherwise leave it

There's never any guarantee you'll make much money IMO and if they had more popular characters I think that would help it

By all means, buy it then. I don't speculate, I collect. I have a huge amount of X-Men stuff including a lot of expensive customs. If they would have followed through on the second sentinel diorama, then sure, I would have to have this. Obviously, the low amount of pre-orders shows that there wasn't a lot of interest. A lot of people did however jump on all three of the IS sentinels which shows it wasn't about cost.

I think it was about cost, and maybe size as well. By the time you ship it, the XM Sentinel is probably close to $7k. Issued in the middle of Covid, definitely had an effect. But that's how modern things can become rare, when something causes fewer to be made, or a distribution issue, etc.

The IS is not distributed yet so we really do not know how widespread the purchases will be.

The problem with the IS is:

1. They say limited but do not issue an ES number which translates to we will make as many as we can sell.

2. If you want your favorite characters in one diorama, you will have to buy more than 1 of the versions and or have to add other single statues to it.

3. While the XM 1/6 scale is huge yet incredible, the 1/10 scale IS may be too small for the characters and diorama to truly be detailed enough to impress most of us and the detail we are used to these days.

It looks to me like IS delayed this statue and is simply keeping it active to get the order numbers up as much as possible (or to make it profitable). Seems like orders have been open for this forever now. The slow sales therein is probably also about money to some degree. I think if $ is a concern, you can have all 3 IS versions for about the same as the XM cost and enjoy that level of detail. Its definitely going to be more available in the aftermarket as well.

The XM is nice but the Iron Studios one just has a bit more wow factor imo.

Man, it took too long to produce this thing. It really feels like the excitement for it died a long time ago.

I remember when I was totally excited about this a long time ago....
