I wonder if this attempt at "made to order" has anything to do with the higher price? Factories can lower costs be doing things in bulk. If they have to do these a couple at a time based on orders, then the price has to go up.

This thing will have a huge foot print..... Even though I could afford it, not sure I have anywhere to display it

IF you had both the funds and the room, this is a no brainer and an absolute must have. Unfortunately for me, I have neither.
