This hasn't been marketed as a movie version from what I recall, so I'm not worried about that film consistency at this point. Also, weren't you advocating the triangular Mk 6 reactor for this piece? That isn't movie consistent. :tap

:lol At the moment I have faith XM would do the battle damage properly and not have the office cat use it as a scratching post to get the effect.

What the heck are you going on about? I wasn't saying anything about using the triangular MK 6 reactor. I did say that the more ornate one works for the Mark 42. However, I want this one to have the current reactor and one that is a little more movie accurate... That would be cool.

Yes it is marketed as a movie version! The only two in XM statues thus far.

Yep. There is no doubt that the MK 42 and Mk7 are movie based... Still tempted to go mpfor this.

The current one in this statue is the triangular reactor, which isn't movie accurate. That's what 'I'm going on about'. Not complex buddy.

None of their other Avengers are movie accurate, I see no reason why the Mark VII needs to be be. We don't even know if they have a license to do movie versions. They may not. They may need to do the reactor uniquely to stay within the scope of their license. Regardless, it looks great, who cares. I know you do yankee... but you shouldn't. :)

:slap XM has said they want these to be as close to movie accurate as possible

Well, then I retract everything about my statement other than "who cares".

I still don't understand though why they would want this one to be movie when the rest are specifically comic characterizations.

Because they are doing a comic version down the road. I don't know why they went with the movie ones first, but I think they look amazing even if they aren't 100 % movie accurate.

Have they said that for sure, comic Iron Men coming later?

It is a weird decision not to just complete their initial Avengers all in comic form. The 42 is also kind of out of left field considering the rest of their lineup but I guess they want to bank on it's popularity. It would be pointless to make the 42 in a few years once everyone realizes it's the worst IM armor ever conceived :)

This VII does look frigging awesome and I quite like the way the reactor is now. Whatever they do with it will look great I'm sure but I'm hoping they keep it as is.

I think that it was probably the fact that they had to negotiate the license for the Avengers, and thhey decided to strike the movie iron while it was hot...lol.

But then why not do other movie Avengers too? Unless no one else allowed their likeness... Anyway we are into heavy speculation here now so now it should end.

Love the Mark VII, throwing down a deposit soon, that is all.

It's been answered before, Marvel didn't approve a comic IM.

Oh I hadn't heard that. Do you know if Marvel wouldn't approve any comic Iron Men or they didn't approve XM's designs?

I could see Marvel not wanting much comic Iron Man stuff out there. The movie versions have become the iconic versions. That isn't as true for the other characters like Hulk and Captain America. They were popular in common culture before the movies, Iron Man not nearly as much.
