Freaked Out
For those interested. Secret Compass has this up for a decent price.
Looks like XM knocked down the ES from 999 to 800 in a recent statement they put out
This is making an issue out of a no-issue.
They said they are refusing orders to distributors - not cancelling existing orders, they're entirely different things. Kraven has been available at SimplyToys since preorder, it's still available, and I bet the ES drop is mostly tied to the fact that it's not sold out yet and probably hasn't gathered much interest. Even as a Spidey villain, Kraven is a very secondary character that comes with an already high price tag. A lower ES surely won't make this sought after all of a sudden, otherwise Ms Marvel wouldn't be selling at retail (and she's more popular than Kraven, by much).
The whole anti-flippers crusade has done more harm to this industry than anything. Companies have always survived greatly by playing on exclusivity and the collectible aspect of the thing. Sideshw, PCS, Cinemaquette, all of them. Most people collect and keep collecting by reselling older pieces, like it or not, and making a profit out of it that helps them buying the next thing they want. This is the hobby. If it wasn't for secondary market and inflated prices, nobody would ever dream to drop hundreds of dollars for a statue. It's the fact that some statues increase in value that drives the hobby. You take away this aspect, it becomes a bubble.
Back to the point: who wanted Kraven had all the time they wanted to order it, if a distributor sold a piece that wasn't yet secured it's not up to XM, it's the distributor who screwed up. When Sideshow reduced ES after preorder, and it happened a few times, not a single person made an issue out of it. They praised the "collectible aspect".
Does SimplyToys ship to the US?
