The XM has by far the best pose out of the three new 1/3s, which includes the P1 and CoolProps.

I do not mind one bit if it is not from any movie, I like concept art. It still looks like a Xeno Warrior.

Love the base, love the little facehuggers.

The dome is cool. Its weakness seems to be the ridged head, albeit not too bad. Just wished it was midnight bluish, not brown, that is just a personal preference.

I have the CoolProps on preorder. I passed on the P1 because it has that giant base, and it is crouching too much, making it shorter than the CoolProps one. I also think the P1 paint app seem a tad muted to me, dull, while the CoolProps is glossy and wet looking, dig its paint app too. Just hope the final product is not painted awfully like in their life sized Warrior head, that was one horrid paint app.

Had the XM been bluish, I would cancel the CoolProps and get XM Warrior Hive statue. But that brown is almost identical to my Dog Alien, I do not want twins in my big 1/3 Alien Trinity display (Big Chap, Warrior, Dog).

That weight seems to be just from the Warrior. The base is extra.

Agree that CP alien and this one has a more glossy wet look which for me is pretty important in an alien statue. Only question is can CP pull off the paint job and retain the sharpness when it comes to production. I'm with you re Prime 1 not looking as wet, and the palette makes it look inorganic and lifeless.

The Dog alien can pass for the brown, but not this one, the colour imo is a fatal mistake. This will find it's crowd though, despite the problems, there is something eerie, alive and unsettling about it, which is a good sign for an alien statue.

I can't put money into "concept art aliens" while we still have things not made from the films. It's just not good. I can't even bother with these. I go for film accuracy and quality. Something only one has gotten right so far in the ALIEN film statues so far.

Yeah, the brown killed it for me. No XM for me.

Too bad about the P1, I really wanted to like it. I did preordered their Big Chap though, that one looks amazing.

I will just stick with the CoolProps Warrior, just crossing fingers the paint app is like in the pics. If I get that horrid turquoise blue from their life-sized head, I will be returning the damn thing, lol.
 
Yeah this is shockingly bad. 'Concept piece' is an overstatement. Head is a combination of fly eyes and cockroach torso. The face looks squashed and compressed. Corkscrew inner jaw? Might be able to use that to open my champagne bottles. I can't imagine any hardcore alien fan would dump money on this, discounted or not.
 
Gem Mint is a nice fella, I watch his reviews all the times. But to brutally honest, he not only doesn’t buy, collect, nor show any Alien statues, he hates the line too. I know this because I told him last year why he didn’t show Alien pieces on his channel, he said he doesn’t like Alien stuff. I asked him to get one and review it, he said NEVER. Well, now he’s glowing all over this piece. Me thinks it’s for XM brownie points (and obviously views, thumbs up, comments, subscribers, bell notifications, adds, and all that annoying stuff). Having said that, not hating on him, I actually appreciate that he’s reviewing it on his popular channel. But yes, it’s a big pass for me too.
 
That's part of the problem with those kinds of channels. For one, they get stuff in that they know little about and aren't into, and they often aren't honest to viewers about obvious flaws (although I do remember him taking a well earned dump on the Iceman piece). He can't be honest about this because obviously XM sent him the prototype to review and get people interested in buying it so they are working together. This is an obvious turd. From concept, to sculpt to paint app. The paint on those facehuggers....yikes. Ive seen better paint work from NECA at $30.
He says at the end to hurry up and preorder, as if there is a danger of them selling all 500 of these any time soon. lol

Yup, right on point with everything you wrote.

I am a very mediocre airbrush painter, but I can paint better than that. The Facehuggers paint app are even worse, looks like a kid sharpie-marked them, yes, yikes is the right word for them, lol.

I hate both domes too. Gem Mint glowingly says they looks like roaches, well, that?s the last thing we want to hear, roaches, lol.

I do like the pose though, but that?s about it, ha...

I think Simon Lee and Amilcar Fong are great artists and they did a fantastic job on this statue. I do wish they would consider changing the color, or at least offering a more traditional black/grayish variant.
 
It also looks so dry. The eggs and facehuggers should all be gooey and slimy.
