Hope somehow they do real wires for the arm. I know they're quite tiny but MAN that would be damn epic, especially the idea of a switch out piece made of multiple materials.

Seeing magneto with real wires was such a great move. Hopefully they keep the innovation rolling. Every piece having its own uniqueness also like Hawkeye with the awesome arrows.

Seriously how do you order this with a coin? It seems pretty much impossible. I have asked 8 distributors and they wouldn't do it saying they only give coins out locally or else they give them too buyers who have made a deal with them to buy every XM statue from them

XM will no longer make coins for their upcoming statues (Phoenix and Thanos being the last with coins).

What difference do they make anyway ? :dunno

Yeah they will discontinue the coins. Ant Man may be the last one with a coin for order. XM Stated that the coin has cause an unexpected obsession with collectors and don't feel it's healthy so they will be stopping it. It was originally supposed to be a bonus for people that pre-ordered early but since they are so popular now it has outlived its purpose and I agree with them on that point.

Alright -o. To me personally I don't care either way, but I know when poo hits the fan in life and I have my statues to help me out financially the coins will pull in more $$. That's it really. There are people out there willing to pay more for exclusives or coins, few they may be but they're out there. And this ain't flipper talk, it's life talk. I've still got cable PO'd without coin anyways ;)

Anyone ordered through BigBadToyStore before? How was the price difference?

I think POing early through the independent sellers here on the board will definitely cost you more than ordering through stores in Singapore because a lot of those stores don't have to pay the initial taxes and they save on shipping. I'm guessing ordering on BBTS is the same as ordering through the independent guys because they are most likely getting it from one of those guys.

The same could be said for their statues. A 500 ES blew past quickly, and now a 999 ES seems too small for their demand.

All in all, I'm glad they're doing away the coins. Seriously, if I was a retailer/reseller/distributor it would drive me crazy having people asking all the time for the damned coins (I bet it happens a lot). It's just more hassle to take a guess on how many you'll receive, to whom you'll have to give them and so on. Unnecessary trouble for what it's really a small token, too bad that people tend to go OCD over the slightest s--t and feel compelled to grasp to anything that makes their already limited collectible "more limited".

I didn't hink I cared about coins until I got one and boy are they nice... out of the 4 XM pieces I will have when delivered I will have 2 coins, 50/50 is not bad :)

The problem with the coins is that there's this secret xm society of fans that get early info and special treatment. People started calling them on it.

I don't care since I can't afford these. But definitely seemed unfair when it was brought up a while back. And, Jova! Illuminati!

I think it's called "early preorder". People who commit based only on the very first artworks or even before that OBVIOUSLY have quite a good chance of locking one with coin, I don't see anything mind boggling in that. It's just a thing I avoid to do since (1) I'm not interested in EVERY character and (2) even if I was I wouldn't commit as soon as I see a rough sketch.

I don't even think that is the reason that XM is discontinuing the coins. They have a couple of guys who helped get their products out there; mainly through the use of this forum, SF, and FB. Those guys were pretty much first come first serve basis and they were straight forward about it. However, other online retailers started literally posting up the coin options as "Sold Out". Meaning that they had already sold those statues in the backroom so to speak before the preorder EVER went up. That caused people to rail against XM, and in the end it had NOTHING to do with them. The eretailers were resellers, and as such aren't bound by any sort of rules per say. Though XM has come out against such practises. So I think that they are simply trying to avoid that kind of thing as much as possible. Now don't get me wrong I think the scramble to get Cable is going to be nuts, but maybe having the whole coin thing out of the way may clear up some of the perception that to much shenanigans is going on in the background.

At this point, I've stopped arguing the "why" to this topic about the coins. It was the sculpts that caught my attention, even when in the concept phase or 3D rendering phase. It was never the coins. From the very beginning I was ok with or without the coin. If XM wants no more coins, then I support them. Just keep bringing on the awesome statues, XM!
