Holy sheeet

Holy sheeet is right!

Wow these pics are phenomenal travegg

Big congrats :)

Thanks Ant. I tried to take close ups at all the angles. Everyone has seen great shots of this guy. I wanted to get the details out to anyone on the fence.

Damn that packaging is impressive. I don't see bits of Styrofoam anywhere...lol. Who did you order through to get the icon and did they tell you you'd get one when you ordered?

Yes it really is. Styro is just like the old school Sideshow stuff. Sturdy and it wasn't scattered all over the packaging. The black straps are Velcro fasteners. The actual box is about three times as thick as the art boxes we get from other competitors. I ordered this back in August from Simply toys and they advertised the coin being included at the time so I did know I would be getting one

Fantastic statue...

Apart from the face which I really don't like.

Congrats Tav.

Thanks Col. It's definitely more of a comic based portrait but I like that. Already have a realistic portrait coming in SS new PF so this is cool to have something a little different. The eyes on this statue are piercing. Bright blue and you can see the retina clear as day. Now I will admit upon examining the eyes in comparison to other statues I own they are slightly slimmer but definitely not Asian. I would say determined or focused to describe the look. All most like cap is looking at you with pure determination. Just my take but throw Asian out the door for those that were wondering.

Home run.

Bud Light? :monkey1

Homerun equals celebration in the form of a cold bud light!

Great shots T! The paint looks good! What's your take on the statue buddy?

I'll give a brief summary on my thoughts.. I took the close ups at the weird angles so everyone could see how clean the lines were. I assure you I tried to find any bleeding or paint running over and I couldn't. Not on a single line. This is one of the best paint apps I have ever seen in person. As for seams they don't exist. The gloves fit over the pegs and go far enough to hide anything you can see from behind. the portrait fits in perfectly hiding any would be seam. The mask flows natural on the statue and fits into the body perfectly. The boots line up perfect to his legs and blend in perfectly where the top of the boots meet the leg. The flag is sculpted and as you can see from the pic the lines are perfect. The flag also screws into the flag pole which is metal. You can get it to hold in any direction you want by placing the bottom into a crack in the concrete. The detailing on this thing are incredible. The gun in the rubble, the sewer top that's says NYC. All of the bullet cases are individual cases that you can place wherever you want. This captain is pure win. I truly tried to find something I didn't like about it to please the masses but it's just not there. Portrait is going to be preferential but there's no arguing anything else on this cap IMO. Its perfect. Magnets are strong but not overbearing. The two base pieces come connected so it's not wobbly at all like one of the intial video reviews I watched by an international toy company. The switch out parts allow for tons of flexibility for displaying. If you don't want a giant flag because of space you can just switch it out to two other heights with his left arm. The feet fit into the base perfectly flush. Nice and tight but I didn't have to force in the peg. I could gush about this for another page but I've got some work to catch up. Hope you guys enjoy the pics. I tried to take as many as I could from different angles to cover all aspects of the statue. Congrats to everyone that is getting this or may now be getting this. This cap will never leave my collection. It's the perfect classic comic captain for me!! Catch up with you all late night

Congrats, guys!

Great pics, Tav!

WOW! Cap looks great between the SSC IM & BW. Fantastic pics James. The lines and paint apps look perfect. The quality of this piece really sticks out in your pics. Congrats on your XM Cap. You must love it to sell off the SSC PF before you received this. I hope it's every bit as good as you wished it would be.

Thanks Filip. Yeah that was a super ballsy move but I had a gut feeling when I saw this and I knew worst case scenario SS new cap would work just fine if XMs didn't. Got lucky and now I'll have the best of both worlds. As far as it being everything I hoped it would be, it's better. I loved my SS PF but the PJs were always a hindrance in the back of my mind. I really wanted a fully sculpted Cap so I took a chance and got lucky with XMs.

Alright really need to get my ass to work. Later guys

Yeah, I collect movie > comic so probably why I don't like it...

Anyway who cares, it's yours and you love it. Really made up for you!
Again, huge grats!

That is one well crafted statue. Damn, good work from XM Studios. Congrats on the purchase Tavegg and thanks for the detailed pictures man!

I like it, but may not get it, for 800 it's not too hard to pass.

Congrats Tav!! Awesome pics :yess:

The XM Cap looks amazing. The paint lines look clearer than anything I've seen on a statue. Glad you like him!

On a (somewhat) related note, who makes the statue of Cap to the left in the shot of the 3 1/4 scale Caps? The one on the "A" base with his shield on his back?

They need to put US dollars in brackets on some of these pieces, because I just know that alot of americans are going to be turned off thinking this is going to be $799 plus the shipping, not talking about you ish, I assume you were referring to the shipping included right? I think it looks great, very tidy looking statue and awesome paint. I do think the face could look a little more lifelike (like the superman pf for instance, even though is still comic), but very high quality piece. If the magneto, wolverine and thanos are this high a quality, we could see a bit of changing of the guard, especially if ssc keeps raising prices and bridging the gap with shipping.

Love the pics Tavegg!! I'm impressed at how much of an overall presence he has...

Wow the XM Cap looks so good....might have to sell my custom Cap ( can't believe I am even thinking it) but have to see them side by side first

Just got home and was welcomed by this beast. Amazing. Absolutely love him. My pics would be crappy poor lighting iphone pics, so refer to the others for why you need this
