I played the crap out of SF4. I only played the original version...I was addicted to the challenge modes (survival mode etc). I bought Super SF4 only to find they removed those modes...basically became an online only game. Stopped playing shortly after.

Yeah me too. Never got into SSF4 just played the original and a ton of SF 2 for Super Nintendo and the arcade back in the day! Same thing with Halo. I still play Halo 3! Never liked 4 or any of the junk they released after. Really looking forward to Halo 5 and Microsoft is also releasing a remastered 1-4 with online multiplayer for all four titles on the xbox one. I almost cried when I saw the E3 trailers for what's to come.... It was beautiful! Haha

@Hiroka

Welcome to the forum and your first post couldn't have been placed in a better spot! Congrats on owning such an amazing statue

The statue turned out great, but I'm really amazed by the packaging. It looks way easier and manageable than Sideshow's packaging.

I wish SS would switch to an easier system like this.

They actually had packaging like this early on
And now and then they use it
Now the box from XM, that's just something else! Top notch

Yeah your right now that I think about it. Green Goblin and Logan had similar packaging with the face of the artbox being a cardboard sleeve. Still not quite on par with XM though. Hope this shakes things up a bit for the rest of the distributors/companies

Yup. I actually took my knife to a gun show recently to have it cleaned and sharpened from all the tape cutting residue thx to ss

Yeah they certainly don't make it easy with their packaging at times. I've gone through plenty of knives opening that awful tape around the styro

@B

:lol Funny i thought the same thing when I first read the post

The straps both look awesome, and are extremely efficient. Hopefully all of these collectible companies do it, they can't be that costly to upgrade to.

Yes, however consider the costs. It not as straight forwards as you think. I assume it will add some $20-50 per package to each Sideshow box.
This is added cost on already expensive Sideshow prices. Not sure if its worth it.

Those straps couldn't add more then maybe $5 to the packaging costs if they bought them in bulk... All I know is a lot of XM Capt. status have been shipped from Singapore to North America and nobody has received a broken statue yet. SS should at the very least use this style packaging for International buyers..

No I was talking about the ENTIRE package
From hard styro to double layered outer box
and the straps
Usually 5-10% report damage but not everyone posts, it's not uncommon

Maybe around $20 or so if they copied the entire box... but when you do 9000 statues that can add up pretty fast... Still the amount of people sending them back and costs of re-shipping stuff should offset that cost a lot... It's pretty much a guessing game since we don't have any hard numbers to compare.... I would be curious to see XM's damage rate with their boxes, seems to me it would be quite a bit lower... SS pretty much does bare min. to ship their statues, I've had some statues show up with the foam inside all torn up....

Is the hard styrofoam really better? Like is it perfectly cut for the XM pieces? I think the soft styrofoam might provide more protection but I honestly don't know.

Other than that, the extra cardboard and the straps are definite upgrades.

Let's just say, have you taken a look at some of PCS's early statues that came in crap soft crumbly Styrofoam. One look or experience with the MK9 Scorpion statue shows you just how crappy it is. It is not and does not protect statues better than harder Styrofoam.

Also, ARH statues had that crappy Styrofoam (sorry Averone...I like ARH stuff but that was terrible...like my Athena statue that came broken in pieces). Anyone who has dealt with these types of Styrofoam can tell you just how BAD it is. You get what you pay for...and in this industry, I would think EVERY company should provide the best, most sound, and complete packaging possible.

That's good to know. I hope improvements are made then. The straps, not only look badass, but they definitely insure no stretch/movement occurring like with the tape.

Maybe that's what the recent price boosts have been for?

So where's the most affordable place to grab this if you're in the states? Just want to be prepared for when other statues come out... :lol

They're all pretty close to the same price, were talking maybe $10 plus or minus between the various stores that sell them..

Actually if you order from SimplyToys, it's much cheaper. If you were to order Capt from them now, it's under $700 USD shipped to US. The US retailers will be around $800.

As these statues are getting pricier by the day, there is no reason statue company to not invest more in better, safer packaging.

I think a read several pages back if you get a broken statue from SimpleToys your SOL... so it's a bit of a gamble, although I don't think anyone has received a broken Capt. Statue yet anyways.. XM packaging is first rate..
