You can pay via credit card and get the actual conversion rate which ends up being 694 or you could have been one of the first to order and paid $651 U.S

Yeah I was just giving people a heads up at what it would be if they wanted to order from them today. So they can make their own comparisons as to where to buy from. I bought one, now just waiting on shipping. I paid a bit more than you but I wanted to wait to see in hand pictures first, especially from a company that had yet to release something. I am very excited about what they are bringing to the table. I look forward to the future of XM. I love the interaction and feedback they have with us on the forums!!

Right on man. Well congrats on your purchase! There isn't a single pic or vid that compares to this cap standing in front of you. It's truly a work of art. POing early was definitely a ballsy move. I picked up the first IM from Iron Studios and man did that turn out to be a letdown... It's still a nice statue but the quality for their first release was an absolute joke. XM is definitely making a loud entrance into the statue community. Hulk and IM are next so it will be extremely interesting to see how those two come out. If they are anything like this cap we are going to have some great options to choose from in the future

Thanks for the Review guys!! I've decided to pull the trigger and get one!! Just debating if I should spend the extra Money and get the Statue with the coin? Any suggestions from the people who already have it with the coin? Would you spend about an extra $150 for the coin?

No one can tell you how much that coin is worth to you. When I first pre-ordered, I got one without coin at the time, when I had a chance I ordered a second one with coin as well. I just had to have the coin at the time. Then the seller from my first preorder gave me the coin as well when I asked if I can move my money to my other preorders. So I end up with two Caps with coin. Now that I have seen the coin, my personal opinion is that it's not that big a deal, I won't pay $150 for it now, maybe I would pay $50. I don't know, extra coin isn't like EX, EX have smaller ES and often means additional display option. Coin is well just a coin, if you put a silver dollar in your shelve next to it, you probably won't notice.

what can I say... great minds think alike! I was just tabling this to the XM boys literally YESTERDAY. We will check with license protocols and see if this is possible but yeah having the ability to buy "accessories" of custom parts to personalize your own statue sounds super cool!

They might be thinking of another head sculpt for Cap A. I will show them the Sideshow Daredevil PF head sculpt as a sample to base on , hopefully it will be a reality somewhere down the road.

After seeing in hand pictures of this statue from Tavegg, I ordered one for myself from Simply Toys. From payment to when he arrived at my door, it took 8 days. Very pleased with how fast this shipped out, but it paled in comparison to how blown away I was when I opened him up. He lived up to the hype and the expectations I had from seeing everyone else's pics and vids. He is extremely well done. I couldn't be more happy with this purchase.

Packaging
The packaging is a nice touch. Heavy, thick rugged cardboard box that holds the styrofoam shells strapped together with velcro straps. Not one single styrofoam popcorn kernel to get off of any of the statue parts! I don't know about anybody else, but I am willing to pay a little extra for this type of high quality packaging. Think about it, we spend hundreds of dollars on a high end collectible that is usually protected by cheap, weak, messy styrofoam. I hope Sideshow and other companies take note.

Sculpt
I never really had a strong preference for mixed media versus fully sculpted, but after seeing this Captain America in person, I have to say fully sculpted is the way to go (most times). The sculpt of Cap is fantastic. Every muscle is well defined. His face sculpt looks great too. There are countless tiny details throughout this sculpt, from the star on top of the flag pole (which is metal!!) to to stars on the heel of his boots, this statue has it all. The bullet casing are heavy and appear to be cast from some metal (brass?). You can place these anywhere on the base.

Paint
The paint job on mine is well done for the most part with a couple of minor mistakes (i.e. - there is some paint bleed from his glove on to the shield strap, but this is hidden behind the shield and can't be seen when displayed and the paint job on the blue eye cutouts on his mask are a little sloppy when looked at up close, but look fine from normal viewing distance.

Display Options
There are numerous display options for Cap with him holding his shield and flag to him holding nothing in each hand to everything in between. Lots of options means lots of pictures. I couldn't stop taking pics.

Weight
For those of you who equate weight with quality, then this guy has it in spades. No hollow sculpt here. Very heavy, solid piece. I think the base and Cap weigh about 25 lbs total.

Size
This version of Cap appears to be 1/4 scale and fits in seamlessly with other 1/4 scale PF from Sideshow.

Overall
Overall I am extremely pleased with how this statue came out. I look forward to more offerings from XM in the future (not really feeling the Black Widow PF yet, but Thanos will be a must buy). As new companies step up the competition, I think the buyers will benefit as a result. I still love my Sideshow Cap PF as it was the first PF I ever bought, but I think this version of Cap is right up there with it. Being a big Cap fan, you can never have enough Caps, so if you are a fan of Cap, then I highly recommend you look into purchasing this piece.

Onto the pics...

...but first some music.

great pics Mister Ski...:clapI still haven't opened mine..I suppose I should open the box and see what all the fuss is about :lol

Solid review and pictures Ski. You got some great shots. Personally I'd send that portrait back to be touched up. There was a rep in the SF thread named Kayorzz that posted this

Hi, here's the repair/replacement policy by XM Studios.

Send pictures of the damage/defect within 7 days of receiving your package to XM Studios.

They will review the damage/defect and decide on the appropriate action to be taken.

Once a decision has been reached, ship the damaged/defective item back to XM Studios together with the original packaging. Shipping will be borne by the sender.

XM Studios will repair/replace the item and ship it back. Shipping will be borne by XM Studios.

When I asked if purchased through a retailer would XM still handle the issue and his response is below. No reason for you to drop that type of money and not have a perfect captain portrait.

ALL, XM leaves no one behind.
If you purchased through a dealer, send your photos back to XM through them.

Nice to hear how they take care of international collector :). The Avengers shot is nice

7 days and the customer has to pay for shipping. Am I reading that right?

Thanks Tavegg. It says to send the product back in original shipping with costs to be borne by sender, which would be me. That doesn't sound right.

Thanks Asdf!

Correct. I'd assume you don't have to send the entire box for just the portrait though. I'm sure they meant if there were issues with more then one piece or the actual body or base or whatever. Caps head should be easy enough to wrap securely and put into a small cardboard box to ship back. Yes you have to pay for the cost to ship to them because the retailers themselves are not accepting responsibility. XM is. Since XM can't technically sell this to you it must be shipped back to the retailer at your cost and then XM will ship it back to you at their cost. Kind of bunk I know but I can't imagine the shipping cost being too expensive for a small little box. I'm sure someone from XM will see these posts and provide better answers.

To be honest I couldn't even see the issues with the eyes until you did an extreme close up of his face with the camera, can you even see that with the naked eye? I imagine you would have to put your face right up against the statue to see that close.

BTW, great pictures... I need to get myself a better camera :)
