Those of you who gave ordered through Secret Compass, what's been your experience? I'm always leery the first time I order from a lesser known dealer.

I ordered this thru them as well, my first purchase with them. I don't have a shipping number yet but everyone else has had nothing but good things to say so I am not worried yet.

Simply Toys ships to Germany for less than $800 USD... I don't live in Europe so i don't know if there is a reason you HAVE to get it from your shop... From an outsiders point of view, you have cheaper alternative.

Thanks, but i was thinking about it in the back.

ST send it to germany, yes. Cap is S$720 with shipping S$205 to germany. For S$925 to me and equal to €555, great price. And now add the customs duty to it and the 19% import sales tax, great to be in germany. Maybe i save €50. I can find a shop in germany with €760. So if you add all the taxes i safe nearly €50 if i order from ST. Dont understand me wrong, but frrom singapore its a long way and for €50 more just a few steps.

I think that you are wrong, I live in Spain and I pay 21% import sales tax, and Fedex add 17€ of customs duty, the total is 687€ including shipping, customs duty and import sales tax.

Also if you buy the Captain in your shop in Germany I think it will not come until December.

Maybe a little bit wrong. Cheapest price in germany was €760 shipped. Yours was €690, good one. So from ST with 19% tax i can save maybe €80. Must think about it.

ST send allways with FedEx?

XM also send by Singpost but is much more expensive.

Ditto.

I've gotten two consecutive "we hope to have tracking by the end of the week" e-mails (one at the beginning of week 1, them again at the beginning of week 2). Then I got an e-mail a few minutes ago saying XM is backed up, so they're expecting two more weeks. So that's a month for an "in stock" item.

Secret Compass been good about communications at least. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that XM's quality control doesn't suffer if they're behind on orders.

Hi everyone, I fully understand your frustration on the delays.
So I thought I'd just give some feedback on my own experience as a wholesaler of XM products.
The boys really do put alot of effort into the quality of their pieces, thus they do their QC in 2 phases.
The first phase is a 100% general QC inspection at the factory production line.
The second phase is a final inspection at XM Studios before the pieces are shipped out to the customers.
Due to space constraints at their Singapore shop, XM cannot have all the pieces delivered together.
They have since endeavoured to rectify this by renting a warehouse so that future releases will be much smoother.

Kayorzz...thanks for the breakdown, but in reality..you shouldn't have to explain to IMPATIENT people hundreds of times about why it might take a little longer to receive a statue.

People....it will get to you! DAMN!!!!!

Everyone sits up here and complains to high heaven about SS having lacking QC and products getting pushed back months to a year before they get it......but when a company like XM takes a little extra time to make sure the product YOU get is excellent there is an incessant amount of impatience and worrying and whining. DAMN!!!!!

Enough!!! The product will get to you soon! As long as you have been made aware of realistic delays...that's really all one can hope for.

Thanks for the scolding, but I didn't pre-order this thing. I anticipate delays on pre-orders, but I ordered a statue that was listed as in-stock, so an unanticipated delay of close to a month before it even ships strikes me as fair game to discuss. My item should have been here weeks ago now. And because the distribution is so limited, I had to use a retailer I've never used before, so when things don't go as expected, I get nervous.

I personally appreciate it if XM is paying attention to quality control, but there's a screw up somewhere in the chain, either with XM or the retailer, because the item is most definitely not "in stock" if it's having to be manufactured and inspected. Either XM miscommunicated to its dealers, or the dealer miscommunicated to its customers. Either are fair points of conversation, and it can help inform people who might be interested in placing their own orders... at the very least so they can adjust their expectations.

Besides, I haven't heard anybody freaking out. It's just mild concern mixed with anticipation. I appreciate Kayorzz's post. It helps reassure me.

Normally I would lay blame on the retailer, they shouldn't list something in stock until they actually have it in hand.... Things get more complicated with XM statues because both Secret Compass and Speculative Fiction drop ship directly from Singapore to your address, so the retailers are probably told the statues are done and that's why they show them as "In Stock" but XM is backed up doing quality control checks... Either way XM has stepped up and is getting a bigger warehouse so they can do their quality control checks faster so hopefully this will fix the delay issues with future statues..

Even if you have to wait a month or two this piece is worth it, IMO the best Captain America statue to date...

I ended up biting the bullet today and ordering myself one from Secret Compass. I noticed on their ebay listing that they had mentioned it was looking to be 15-20 days out and a potential delivery into August. So I ordered expecting it to be awhile, but I'm ok with that. As I've gotten older in this hobby, delivery delays don't seem to bother me as much.

That being said, I'm excited to get him up on the shelf.

The worst part for me is not the delay is that I paid more than the average...$200 more. I just hope secret compass delivers what they promised, the coin. Don't really know if I would buy from them again. Feel a little ripped off, knowing I could have had it for cheaper and with the bonus coin :(

I thought Secret Compass was out of coins! Where are you able to get it with the coin $200 cheaper?
