Hey Josh, I get what you are saying about the higher price point with XM. This isn't meant to come off as elitist or as though money is no object to me, but I do make a good living and probably have more "disposable" income to put towards statues than the average collector. As such, I am willing to pay more, if the quality is there. It makes the higher price point more palatable to me if I receive something that is of high quality and looks like the prototype.

I don't take it as elitist at all, I do fairly okay myself, not as much as some of you guys but okay and enough to order 5+ statues a year but at a certain price point. I just don't see spending nearly 1/3 more for the same scale and in "most" cases quality product a good thing. But maybe I'm jumping the gun.

I'm not sure you're understanding what I meant. All I'm saying is to expect a 24 hour response is unreasonable for a huge company like Sideshow, and their offer for a credit is fair considering the condition of the replacements they had...

My bad then Custo. I must have read into the post too deep. I agree that its not the same. Posting an issue on the most active thread for a brand new company about an issue vs sending an email to SS CS does not warrant the same return time and also is not fair to compare. Im just happy to see that XM did respond in that time frame. Regardless of having a rep to keep up and a new line to promote, getting to the owner of the company within minutes of a problem being posted is still an amazing spectacle of customer service regardless of conditions

It is indeed an impressive response time. I just hope they continue with it and it doesn't drop off when their fanbase increases exponentially. For now I'm priced out of most of these XM statues, but I may be able to pick up one or two. Magneto definitely looks like a possibility.

Nothing would please me more then to see an XM Batman statue just to see your inital reaction Josh. I could see your post count going up quite rapidly during that particular week. :lol

Completely understand your thoughts here. The hype is built around captain right now. No doubt about that. Now that XM is getting so much attention there will be a magnifing glass on thier work. If QC slips even slightly it could be disasterous for future releases especially because of the price point. If I am going to spend more money for one, I want to feel like I am spending it for a reason. Forget affordability, its a very large price point for a statue period. To continue getting that type of money, XM will have to perform the same type of quality we saw in their cap and God forbid SS takes notice and decides to hone in a bit on thier production quality. Lots of factors that go into it all really. Its indeed an exciting time for collectors though. Regardless of what company you choose they all have some really impressive stuff coming and that is the best part for a collector like myself

I think you are missing his point. A credit is the EASY way out. Basically SSC is telling you to eat it and take the credit or return it. I don't know about you but I love SSC merch and have spent a fair amount on them. Peeps are dedicated to picking up not only some statues, but also some lineups. Most of us here fall under this category. We are pretty dedicated customers. So, if I order Apocalypse because I love the character and need him in my X-MEN lineup, I don't want SSC to tell me to eat a QC laden Apoc (and accept a credit) or return it. A company that values their customers would either make sure you received a great statue to begin with or they'll have a suitable replacement if your piece arrives with QC issues.

I personally have never had to return a statue of a character I really love and wanted in my collection ( I won't eat a ****** piece). SSC's customer service has ALWAYS taken care of me personally with great replacements. In that regard, I find myself lucky. However, if I had to return enough SSC statues of characters I really want in my collection because of QC issues, I would stop collecting from SSC. As a collector I don't want holes in my SSC lineups because I had to return pieces because of QC issues and no suitable replacements were made available. I hope it never comes to that because SSC makes some amazing merch and I really enjoy collecting from them.

....Please don't curse me like that I just spent that kind of Money on the Modern Life Size Bust I can't do that on anything else :lol

Nah you dont need to worry about XM coming up with a batman. You need to worry about SS coming up with a blue costume variant and a possible LSF sneak at this years SDCC. Now that is real financial fears my friend. Get ready cause its coming

You're completely missing the last part of my statement. I said it was fair given the condition of their replacements. They didn't have any that were of better quality. Now if that is indeed true, maybe they'll produce more replacements. I think they did that with the Black Widow Movie PF. What I'm trying to get at is the credit is FAIR given the circumstances. They honestly could have just sent you a prepaid label and got you to return it with no other compensation...

AhHA! I have contingencies (Much like Batman) for both of those. 1. Blue Batman PF, so far Sideshow's PO's this late in the year have been showing a release for next year so No problemo and 2. Hopefully, the Batman LSF will be open edition like some of the others and I can place an order when it suits me and flex pay it out...like a car payment...:lol

Haha Nicely done sir. Looks like you already have this all figured out! (very nice battle plan by the way)

Ahem. However.... I raise you SS's Arkham Knight, followed inevitably by a Poison Ivy, and Harley Quinn.....

We are never getting out alive my friend....

Some dude did a badass blue/grey batman custom on youtube. Almost makes me want to send him mine.

Video link? May want to PM it to me for the Sake of Joshs wallet

I'm subscribed to Rapha's Channel so i've seen this, besides I like my Black version...although I did think about sending him over to go all black without the blue highlights.

I like how it was then fully sculpted. Much more detail highlighting musculature. Obviously some work is needed on the sculpt before (which Rapha did) or it would have looked funny.

I think fabric works best on characters like Gandalf. I prefer fully sculpted on my superheroes in tights.

In my book, the "no pieces we have are of better quality" line is a cop out. That's not about their customers, it's about their bottom line. They can start a replacement list up and go back into production. They have done this in a few instances. Look, I understand that there will always be some QC issues in any run. However, when the QC issues are as MASSIVE as they have been with some of their merch (Spider Woman, Apocalypse, Rogue, and Psylocke to name a few), something is wrong on their end at the factories they are using for these pieces. The fact that there are no suitable replacements is because the factory that f'd up the initial production pieces also made the replacements. That's what needs to be addressed by SSC. A company that wants to take care of (and keep) its customers, doesn't ship out their products with a prepaid labels because QC issues are too much trouble for them to deal with.

I know shyte happens. Good companies make an effort to make things right. A prepaid shipping label is the easy way out. It always will be. The only thing easier for SSC is their customers eating a shoddy piece and accepting a small credit for it. As far as "fair given the circumstances"...these circumstances occurred because the QC at their factories were not up to par to begin with. That's where gross QC issues of this magnitude always begin. That's what needs to addressed to fix them.
