I know someone will inevitably say there is more pop with fabric but not when it obscures detail. You can simulate fabric with sculpt (Obi Wan Mythos, Deadpool PF etc...) but fabric will always obscure musculature.
That has always been my biggest issue with fabric. It usually becomes a bigger issue on skin tight costumes. Especially when SSC uses that cheezy felt looking cloth. However, I think the modern Thor PF is a perfect example of how cool it can be when done right. The costume on that piece is remarkable in my book.
Man, this thread is all over the place today.
Congrats to XM on putting out a great Cap statue and selling out. I'm impressed with the way they are doing business so far and I'm REALLY looking forward to the Magneto statue next.

Awesome video Snad. Thanks for sharing. The guy is certainly talented. I wonder if SS will do a blue/grey Batman variant? Even if they do, it will be fabric and I am now a fully sculpted convert.
I did too James. I was cringing the whole time. He came out fantastic though.

Let's not forget the majority of these were probably sold in non english speaking areas anyways. Aka we aren't seeing their damage on this forum. Also, I've seen reviews on this guy with people claiming perfect paint lines, and then they post the pics... And they aren't. Seeing things people would rip sideshow apart for, being claimed as perfect on cap.
I think people are really just caught up in the hype right now. And I'm not trying to take the credit away from XM. It's great and actually stands a chance to compete with sideshow. But people throwing sideshow to the wolves because XM has released one statue and released concept designs is absolutely ridiculous. These same people, are those who have 20,000$ plus collections, and 19+ PO's with sideshow.
All in all, seeing all these people defile sideshow for such minor accounts of "damaged" statues.

I like the cloth because it makes the muscles and definition look believable/more realistic. Natural shading, tight fitting where it should be, etc. I think apocalypse looks great, and I understand comic characters are drawn that way, but no material in the work is going to be as tight as apocalypse's suit.

Thx for it. I feel the same way. Perfect pieces from members with not perfect lines, silver color on the black belt or anything little else, again perfect. Im not perfect, but these pics are not more perfect as a normal piece from sideshow.

Exactly. And I didn't say anything before because it was just their opinion. But after seeing people shred sideshow for the same exact issues on apocalypse paint lines... I died a little inside. Haha
While we are getting stuff off our chests, I think the XM cap boots and gloves look like crushed clown noses. The shading is literally just sponge blotches of a darker color. I don't see realism in the gloves and boots at all. (Boots more so than the gloves)

Savage..... Seriously?? You are so out of your league right now it's ridiculous. XM Cap and Apoc aren't even on the same playing field brother. No one is shredding SS for similar issues man. The paint applications are not even comparable. You can have your opinion all you want buddy but please ask someone aside from myself (there's a handful) that has these two if the paint is comprable. Regardless of whether you like the boots. The portrait. Whatever. If we're strictly talking quality here Apoc doesn't even belong in the same sentence. If you had these two in hand right now and could actually compare the statues you would be singing a completely different tune. Also just because a someone has a large collection, mainly SS, doesn't mean they don't get to complain about a 600 dollar item showing up the way Apoc did. Your comparison is so absurd that I can't even comment any further. Just go to the Apocolypse thread here and on statue forum and read up for the last 35 pages of complaints. Then come back into an XM captain thread and brush up on the endless pages of praise that cap has gotten.
If didn't know better based on the comments you just made and going back to the Apoc thread where Col and A2 beat you into submission I'd say you secretly work for SS as die hard forum supporter. Trust me when I tell you this there will be a day when your over eagerly anticipating a statue and have the same result that many of us ended up with when Apocalypse showed up.

I could say the same thing about you and XM dude. Haha. And seeing picture of slightly messy paint lines on the apocalypse, then seeing the same thing on XM cap photos that are captions "perfect" is what I'm saying. I'm not comparing their overall quality. It's obvious that there are damages to the apocalypse. I have never denied it. All I'm saying is people are so hyped by this company, that this apocalypse mishap has caused them to act like their going to completely turn their back on sideshow. Which we all know is a lie. Haha. And I'm not one sided, I think the XM looks cool, just not what I want. If their thor is shown, looks better than the sideshow thor, and is a competitive price, I'd consider it.
With the high definition close up pics posted, I do not need to own both statues to have an opinion. Someone just agreed with me, and based on his comment, it's obvious that people aren't being truthful because their afraid someone will jump down their throats. They are just smart enough to leave it alone. Unlike me. Hahaha
And with col and a2, they're awesome. And I understand their point of view. But again... People agreed with me as well. Just another time I chalked it up to "agree to disagree".
