I understand aa909's point: There are some characters I really like, and will buy the 'right' statue, if it appeals to me. I could see this being the case. The unicorn will probably be a reaction of "Perfect!!" or "um.....no thanks".

But as GB says, in the comics, DP does whacky crap that makes zero sense in the heat of battle. This gif is pretty accurate:
