I finally got the sucker unpacked and setup. Being my first XM statue, I'm still kind of in shock with the acrobatic routine I had to go through to get the shipper box off, then remove all the bubble wrap, so I could then remove the actual XM box, then wrangle it around to get it out of the plastic bag, then flipping it over to get the XM lid off, then unstrapping the belts, to finally see my beauty! LOL I do not exaggerate the boxes weight 55-65lbs - my cat had his "WTF are you doing?" look going on. If you've ever watched them strong man shows where they flip huge tractor tires over and over.... there's your mental image.
The statue is really great. Its not perfect, but as a Hulk fan I couldn't be happier. The online pics/vids don't do it justice. It looks so much better in person. I think the torn shirt is what throws this off. In person it looks really cool, in pics not so much. My only gripe is the crotch area looks too small or pinched. But all in all, its a really good statue that I think anyone would be happy to have in their collection.
I think the XM "hype" isn't really hype, its the real deal - legitimate excellence, highest quality, unique creativity, customer engagement, etc...
Also, a thanks to Tavegg!!! You're video was my deciding factor on PO'ing this statue. I couldn't be happier - thanks for taking the time to share with the community!

I'm a huge Hulk fan and I buy almost every cool thing that comes out. But this statue.......I'm just not feeling it. The head sculpts are terrible and I do not like the sculpted on torn white shirt. I keep trying to talk myself into it but I just can't get past those flaws. And I think it speaks volumes that this has not sold out yet. I mean c'mon every XM statue sells out within days and some within hours.

I think part of the problem is it is the Hulk, SS has flooded the market with Hulk statues and they cost about $200 less, so when you figure you have a non-photogenic statue + $200 price premium ($400 if you include shipping) people are probably going to go for the cheaper option... That said this statue is way more impressive in person then pictures... There's not a lot left of him, I know Simple Toys is sold out and it's just some of the smaller shops that have a few left...

Actually, I kind of think that it is testament to the fact that people aren't only buying XM products because of the name. This Hulk is very good, but it doesn't blow away the offerings from SSC, in fact I don't think it matches them when it comes to the sculpt. So he is sitting around for a bit. This was one of XMs first attempts, and it shows to some extent. I have full confidence that they can top it some day. I will admit to being slightly tempted though. However, I got something I like a little better on my hard drive right now... lol.
I'm in a similar boat, the portraits on this one just don't do it for me although I do like the rest of the sculpt. That being said, none of the current Hulk offerings by any company do it for me in one way or another so I'll just have to keep waiting to add one Hulk to my collection.
I agree with you. The red Hulk came out pretty nice but at the end of the day I hate the character. Green Hulk could have been a winner if the put the EX hair on the regular head but they didn't and we're stuck with a Justin Bieber Hulk head and while looking decent for an old school head the EX just looks doofy. The grey Hulk on the other hand is all kinds of awesome if you are a fan of the McFarlane Hulk. I have a feeling at the end of the day that will be the only Hulk I end up keeping out of this trio.
But at the end of the days all 6 SS Hulk head sculpts looks SO MUCH better than the XM head sculpts.

Yeah, that's exactly how I feel too. Yea, that switch out of heads you mentioned probably would have been the best of both worlds. Granted, I'm only interested in adding one Hulk for my collection and I'd like it to be green and standard. Variants of Red, Grey, Pink, Purple, Fuscia, World of Warcraft, Tiara are auto passes regardless of how well they're done & any Hulk with a portrait I'm not 100% into will be passes as well.
If I had to pick a fave portrait at this time it would be GH Hulk I think.
Imagine a Ferrigno quarter scale.................

I have said it about 8 dozen times, but if they had put the EX Rulk head on the new Green Hulk PF I would have been all over it. It is an amazing modern Hulk sculpt. In the end I wish that XM was just producing this one... I think the extensive fan input that exists now would have pushed this in a better direction.
Same issues... Been tempted but then I look at it... Temptation gone. There have been a few pics and vids to make it look better but it just is not the hulk for me...
After fixing the eyebrows I am back to Avengers Hulk Maquette being my fav. with King a close second.... Both will switch depending on my mood.

I received mine early this week and I love it. Everyday that passes I actually like it more and more. Very happy with this purchase especially that there are only 500 pieces.
Grr.....don't say that. That's the only SS Hulk I skipped. Just not feeling the green color. I bought both old school PF Green and Grey (but sold them due to the high secondary market prices), King, Gladiator, Green EX, Red EX, and Grey EX.

The Maq is a killer piece. I wish I get behind it completely, but I wish it was showing him more enraged.
I am glad that you love this pieces. It is HUGE, and it appears to have great paint apps. I do wish I could see it in person.
Agree again, don't like that Hulk at all from portrait to color to pose. It's the weakest of all 1:4 Hulks offered imo.
