I love looking at these production pics. The closer he gets to completion the more impatient I get...lol.

Hmmm...... I don't know that you can say the right is protocol and the left is production. The left one is just place on there and therefore is not "seated" properly without the cape, so his foot position is off. I think both are production.

The cape is different though so maybe you're right, spidey. I just wouldn't think they would put a proto out in an exact incomplete stage to be mixed up with production pieces.

Proto pieces are usually on display for paint app purposes. They are visual color references for the factory workers. Don't worry, there's no way that XM releases Mags with his collar that high up.

The cape was definitely changed, so that one with the old cape has to be a proto.

The foot on the cape bothering people makes zero sense to me.

It didn't bother me, but doesn't bother me that it was changed either.

Yeah it doesn't bother me that it was changed. It really makes no difference to me. I just remember people saying "how will he get up without tripping!?!?" Which I thought was hilarious.

Skillet you need to have faith in my critical eye

Here is a pic of the proto being painted

Note the squarish slightly rough neck peg.

Now if you look at this pic again, note the squarerish and rough neck peg on the right (caped) piece, and the much more cleanly keyed neck on the production piece (without the cape) on the left.

As fillip stated they must have had one of the two prototypes there for a painting reference, and they either took the portraits off so they could get the paint right everywhere, or to maybe avoid damage. All in we are seeing a production on the left I am sure of it. As for it not being seated properly that is because they don't have a painted cape ready for it yet... lol.

Mags doesn't "stand up"...he levitates, :lol! Standing is for inferior humans.

I definitely agree that the one on the left is a production piece. All signs point to it.
